Brought us back to Japan. Service and food top notch as u would get in Japan. Each dish was done with definition, creativeness and well balanced, loved the persimmon with wasabi yogurt, cod and also scotch fillet. If in the region it is definitely a must visit. Seriously best place we visited in Margaret. The only thing to improve on is the lightness of the tempura. Would like for the next time to see the oilinesss completely eliminated. That being said, still a not to be missed place in margs.
Loved it. Went there randomly and got a table straight away. Service was great, staff were lovely and accommodating as we had a pram. Food was great portions were very tiny for the amount you were paying.
Great for special occasion, or those who wants to splurge. Definitely not cheap. But if you want a good Japanese degustation experience, give this one a go. In the end it was around $95 per person for us. Not sure if we want to go back again, but very memorable.
I came here two years ago and remember a wonderful, tasty, generous meal that we looked at each other in awe, raves about on the way home and struggled to finish. Fast forward to 2018. I brought my friends here after raving about it for days. We ordered the trust menu. There were some fabulous elements that we had, standouts were the tempura scallop, barely cooked, so tender and juicy, and the tempura asparagus, which was sweet and flavourful. Unfortunately the other dishes were just okay, nothing too fancy to write home about. Whilst I appreciated the sauces and the fine knife cuts and microherbs, I felt like the value for money wasn’t there. For example, the mains have shrunk. The baked barramundi (not pictured) was literally a 3cm wide fillet, which was obviously very very small, too small for a main we felt. While the service was superb and it was nice watching the cooks make our food (with precision really, so so good to watch), I’d go elsewhere next time I’m in Margs.
Been here 4 times and never disappoints! Had Miki’s Trust which had so much variety! Looks like there’s now an option to try a little of everything on the menu with Miki’s Complete; had we not had such a large lunch, that would have been the goer!Looking forward to our next visit! Front row seats at the bar really added to the experience 🙂
