Tried the mushrooms with goat cheese on toast and the hotcakes here. It’s all part of a new breakfast menu at Smoult’s and there was quite a buzz when we were there.The mushrooms and goat cheese were good but not outstanding. The mushrooms were firm and the bread was crisp. Unfortunately I would have to say it’s overpriced, the addition of another egg or another aspect to the dish may have made it worth the money.Similarly the pancakes were nice but small for the amount paid. They were very well plated and did taste good but that in itself does not justify the $18 pricetag.It’s a decent brunch/brekkie. The food while good isn’t particularly outstanding, nor are the prices reasonable enough for me to return.
