If you ever wanted to travel back in time to Perth in the 1980s then I strongly encourage you to visit Pa’s. Starting with the bright yellow and blue colour scheme and the matching uniforms of the friendly staff you will be transported to a time when XE Falcon reigned supreme. The cakes and pastries are all taken from the Women’s Weekly Annual with mock cream cakes, custard tarts and vanilla slices. The hot food takes it to another level with all your favourites from the 70s and 80s; iceberg lettuce, frozen beef patties, Coronation chicken, bland bread rolls. The cafe is right next to a retirement village and the menu knows its audience well. Clearly the retro dining market is alive and well.
We have lived 200mtrs from pas for 9 years. Absolutely love their food. The coffee however is terrible. We stopped going for that reason. Pas needs good coffee and someone who knows how to make coffee and the place would be unbeatable in this area.
This is my local. I brag about it to other people and make sure I have some of their goodies if I ever have people around. But unfortunately the staff can be so damned rude it really makes coming here so unpleasant.
Good bakery this one – sour dough knot rolls are super
Great simple home style burger. Bread was lovely and fresh. I’ll be back.
GOOD AND BAD POINTS. I had Lunch at Pa’s on Sat 2nd Feb, HOT DAY, they only have Ceiling Fans, no AirCon. WHY is there no Air Con, one of the guests said even the fan was like sitting under a Hair Dryer as the air was so hot, we left as soon as we had finished,The food was FANTASTIC, my Hot Dog with the Works was so big I took half home for Tea, I came home with some Donuts, Aussie Shaped Cookies , Scones and Jam Tarts. Now I really do not like Donuts BUT these were FANTASTIC and the little Cookies are great, have not tried th others lot yet, put in Freezer for attention later. My Friends are English, LOVED the food, but found the lack of Air Con bad, these people move around one will be in Singapore, Indonesia and back next week, so they know what they are talking about, but said they would come back often on a cooler day.One OTHER problem is one of them is Diabetic, now you hav e Gluten Free Items so WHY no Diabetic Food, SOMETHING clearly marked NO SUGAR would have been nice. Now I LOVE the place, have been there often, came from Belmont for Lunch and wil be back, but please can we get some Air Con, then it would be HEAVEN.
Burgers are delicious. I had the chicken schnitzel burger and the wedges… Beautiful! Good service and nice staff. Check it out…
