I have dined in one night for dinner, and ordered takeaway several times. Had a very long wait for the main meal after ordering (over an hour) with no wait staff coming over and apologising for the lateness of the meal whilst we were waiting or offering something for making us wait. The food was delicious however and the chefs apologised for the lateness as we were leaving. As for takeaway, I have ordered several different pastas and the chicken scallopini, marsala, garlic prawns just to name a few. Food was nice but not worth the price we paid for (takeaway). So far my experience is that the food is made better when dining in, but received average service whilst dining in. Based on other reviews I have read it seems like a great local dine in place, but I wouldn’t recommend buying takeaway for the prices charged.
Amazing! I have eaten here several times and every dish I have tried has been delicious. I have taken several friends and family members here and everyone has always walked out impressed – lucky, because I had raved about it. Do yourself a favour and give it a go!!
Mrs B2. Best local eating place we’ve had for years. Don’t bother going into Freo anymore for a meal as we enjoy the food here so much. ..The prices are more than reasonable. I agree that the South Coogee Caf has been mistaken for the Coogee Caf near Coogee Beach. Used to go there a lot but don’t even bother anymore. Food overpriced and low quality, plus the staff very unfriendly.
Pretty ordinary. Save your money and go to a pub, the food will be better.
BUONISSIMO!!!. The food in this place is awesome. Down to earth great Italian food, great for lunch or dinner. I don’t know where you other people who had complaints were eating but it definitely wasn’t south coogee e cafe. Do yourself a favour and go for dinner you’ll be in for a treat. The bruschetta is great for a starter or try the grilled sausage and feta plate. The chilli mussels are great to share because you will definitely want something else from the menu, like …..the steak or the fish or try one of the specials like the goat. Make sure you leave room for dessert because the malteser brulee is to die for. ….. yes I’ve been a few times i keep going back because it’s so good. BUONISSSSSIMO!
Best italian ive had for a while. SOUTH Coogee cafe – so good, like i said best ive had for ages. Any negative reviews of this place are definately confused with coogee cafe down near the beach. Which is absolutely crap and should be avoided at all costs. South coogee cafe doesnt have the best location but has awesome food and lovely staff.
Family Friendly with Good Food. Title says it all. very happy with dinner last night. Will be back for sure. Workmates told me to come here, so I took the family, and I’m very impressed. Recommended.
