I’ve only eaten here twice, so I haven’t really gotten a great idea of this shop. But, the char kuayteowis very good and the sambal is also decent. The bean sprouts are worth a try, but Pappa Rich probably has the best bean sprouts with salty fish around here.
Came in on a quiet Monday. I ordered the Hainanese Chicken Rice, the chicken was overly dry and rubbery with no flavour… the rice was bland with only a hint of ginger flavour. Definitely the WORST CHICKEN RICE i’ve ever had. I also ordered Beef Rendang and it was also bland and so watery. It was like eat 80% water with chilli oil, and a few small bits of beef. Beef Rendang is meant to be a dry curry incase the owners don’t know. I would rather eat instant noodles than order their food again. I hate wasting my money on cheap careless food. I hope they shut down and a better tasting restaurant replaces Ipoh.
The fried chicken here is absolutely delicious and flavourful as anything! When I decide to go here there are a few things that I will either order and these include; the dry hor fun, Nasi lemak with fried chicken , curry laksa or soup hor fun. The Nasi lemak always taste amazing however sometimes the peanuts taste a little burnt but beside that absolutely amazing. The chicken is so delicious I feel like they should do bigger servings of it because it taste superb! The dry hor fun is nice with sambal and best when spicy. The serving for this is quite generous and the sauces all taste amazing and authenticThe curry laksa is amazing with lots of flavour and lots of ingredients and has never disappointed. This is a dish I would recommend and perfect for winter.
Ipoh Hor Fun soup is not as good anymore. Rice Noodle House in Shelley does it way better. But seafood hor fun and Inchi Kabin Fried Chicken is still good.
I went to Ipoh garden restaurant for lunch and ordered a Laksa. It tasted mediocre. The service was alright, but the price is too high for the quality and quantity of food.
Ive been to this restaurant a number of times and have ordered their famous Ipoh hor fun each time. Decided to try something different this time. Both the char kuey teow and mee mamak were delicious. Definitely a go-to place to satisfy those Malaysian food cravings.
