Wow! This place is such a hidden little treasure in Freo. It has such a funky vibe. The menu is extensive and the staff are lovely. I ordered my usual sides- after my bad experience at Fez cafe I first confirmed whether this was an option- ‘of course’- waitress looked at me in disbelief as to why I would even ask that. They were soo accomodating. Allowed us to swap the salmon in one dish for bacon without even flinching at the request. Whilst waiting for our meals we took advantage of the free newspapers and sipped on our perfect coffees. The food was delicious. Massive portions. Well priced. They just got it all soo right! Best plate of sides I have been served in a long while! Def recommend.
I’m giving this cafe 5/5 purely on the basis of coffee on this occasion. Honestly cannot review the food though the menu looks really cool interesting and heading straight up to really tasty . I am looking forward to trying out next time in Fremantle. The coffee is the best I’ve had this visit to Perth. They know how to do it Relaxed atmosphere in a humble location and makes the road outside insignificant
The quirky name, location near some fun shops in a lesser frequented strip in Fremantle, and the super friendly staff are a great start to a cafe visit. Loved the lunch this morning. Fresh salad (green / rice salads combo) / $7 for a small size. Perfect. Smoothies and juices are a feature, with a good range.
A fairly straightforward but cute cafe with delicious food that’s really well priced. The coffee is also great and fantastically quick for takeaway.
Spotted this cute little cafe today after brunch at another Freo eatery. Couldn’t not pop in as the place was buzzing and the super cute table and chair set up out the front was just my cup of tea. The interiors are bright and modern, with super cool abstract photography on the walls (Rocket Shots by Marika Brock perhaps?)! Staff were friendly, even though I could see they were busy. I will admit I had quick squiz in the sweet cabinet and everything looked amazing, especially the Almond Snail. Next time for sure. I just needed a coffee, so I ordered a Large Soy FW. Was so excited to see they use the Biocup Art Series cups – too pretty to drink from really. The coffee blend is super strong, perfect for a mid morning hit. Strong but smooth. Wait time was pretty quick too. Will def be back for a real meal.
Queenslander moved to Perth 5 years ago. Tried a stack of Long Mach’s at cafes all around Perth.Short Black Sheep honestly makes the best and most consistent Long Mach topped up in Perth!! Good job guys!!
A neat little cafe in the small section of north freo near flipside/mojos/propeller. Stopped by after a cycle and unfortunately due to the public holiday, they were only making coffees and had a few goods on the counter. Had a coffee ($4.5), cold pressed juice ($8) and a bliss ball ($4). The bliss ball was intensely sweet, almost past the point of being edible (I think the amount of dates overpower any of the other ingredients). Coffee was reasonable, although the wait was far too long for it.
