Been here after rediscovering North Perth again after quite a few years. I love NOR and it’s quite hard to get good places to eat up here, other than going to Leederville, Victoria Park or the CBD. Now North Perth can compete.Ecco’s Pizza is one of the places that brings it up a notch. It supplies delicious woodfired pizza and the customer service is good and friendly, the owner likes to get up to regularly greet his guests or even jump in the kitchen to take part in the cooking himself. I love his pizzas and he very generously asks me how I like mine (I love fresh chillies on it) and promptly with some culinary sense, adjusts it to my liking (harmony with the customers). The Calabrese is a great pizza, plenty of cheese and meat and chillies. The base is just slightly thick enough to make you feel satisfied but doesn’t feel so bready. There is a just a slight crispness when you break it with your teeth and then a pleasant moist chew. Also the Fiore is a great pizza. the cauliflower and pancetta work really well. Quickly becoming one of my favourite pizza’s without tomato sauce. I love supporting good businesses like this one. Please visit sometime and greet the owner, he’s super friendly and loves to make sure you enjoy your time there. Prices are reasonable too.

I’m a little dissapointed with my order, ive heard many good things about this place . Unfortunately delivery took 1.5 hours and the food was cold by the time it got here.Pizza wasn’t too bad but quite expensive after adding 2 toppings for $6 extra. The pollo picante was a let down, it was extremely dry and bland. The pear salad was plain nothing special .Such a shame as I really wanted to like this place.

Approved. There is no dispute that Ecco provide a quality Italian pizza menu but it does come at the higher end of the price spectrum. For others this may be an issue but for a Prince who adores authentic and good pizza… what truly is the price of love. As a side note, perhaps some live Italian music (accordion player etc) to coincide with a specials night every fortnight/month could be a great idea to draw in the masses?

Its hard to define what makes a great pizza and even harder to define what makes a great pizza joint. Pizzas have gone through their fads and even Dominos has seemingly thousands of topping varieties and you can design your own.Ecco on Fitzgerald Street eschews that new age approach. The pizzas are very traditional and are categorised as red or white. The toppings are used properly and dont overpower your senses. The dough is great – wood-fired perfectly and chewy without being doughy.Pizza aside, the other main meals are massive and will challenge most diners. A case in point is the rocket, pear and parmesan side salad that we generally order with pizza. It would feed a family of four and costs $12.All of the traditional pizzas we have tasted have been lovely but the standout is the Gamberi. The garlic prawns are large, succulent, and plentiful. The seasoning just right for bringing out the seafood flavour.Once you get used to the idea of sitting out on Fitzgerald Street next to a bus-stop and sipping on a red wine and munching on your favourite slice you could be in Italy. Or you could dine inside. We will keep coming back as its our new favourite pizza joint.

delicious woodfired pizzas with minimal toppings, just the way I like it. Great crisp bases. My two favourites are the patata with a cream base, thinly sliced roast potato, rosemary and sea salt. Calabrese with just tomato sauce, italian sausage and basil is my other staple.Probably the best pizza in the North Perth area but definitely not the cheapest as a takeaway pizza can set you back over $20.
