Service was ordinary, there was an extensive list of things off the menu they didn’t have! And the food that came out was very disappointing. Such a shame, it’s a prime location
This place has such great potential – situated on the banks of the Murray river. We have given it a few goes since it changed hands, and it has been very hit and miss with the quality of the food, but last night will be our last. We went for dinner and ordered fish and chips and the ribs (which was the nightly special) we waited over 40 minutes for these two meals and there were no more than 20 people there at the time. When we queried where our meals were, we were told , sorry the big table got in before you – there were probably 14 people on that table. They were only very simple meals that we ordered and I wonder how they would cope if they were full to capacity. The staff are very friendly, but to wait 40 minutes for such simple meals is not acceptable.
Very promising from the outside. Disappointing from the inside. It’s quite disheartening coming to a restaurant when you read an elaborate menu to be told several times they don’t have what’s on the menu. Why bother having it there if you don’t make it? We settled on two burgers and a kids meal of fish and chips. The meal I ordered was lathered in nearly half a bottle of mayonnaise it was sickly and literally revolting. Vegetarian patty was hard and over cooked it was not edible. My partners meal was also very disappointing and barely took 2 bites. Kids meal very poor using frozen fish claiming to be fresh and drowning in oil.My partner told the waitstaff about the lack of quality in their food and he was offered a full refund and a apology which was fair. After we left we realised they only refunded the two burgers.Bit sly to say to get a full refund and do something quite different. This place has so much potential especially being on the river and travelling there by boat. I was actually quite excited to try but sorry, would be nice if the food was decent enough.
Just passed by the area and googled a place to eat. They have a lunch menu on weekdays for $15. Quite a list of dishes but they only got a lamb curry. However the waiter helped me to pick some other curry from the menu. Very friendly and helpful ! The beef pie was excellent too. The beef chuck is tender and the sauce is right seasoning in balance. The beers were cold and good view in the warm spring afternoon. Plus nice and good service, certainly will be back next time in town. alfredcslau.wordpress.com
12 meals ordered and only 2 were above average.Chips over salted, mushy peas were like nothing any of us had ever seen or tasted before yuk. Curry went back had a burnt smell, gamon was like leather, Chicken was dry. On the up side great for kids, Friday Karaoke, amazing if kids love to sing. Enjoyed it spoiled by the food.
Worst food ever, I had chicken wings and they were raw. I think if you want to eat here is go to a servo. Hopefully next time the chef cooks the food
