The Riverside does solid pub food at good prices. On my first visit, I had the steak burger, which included a well cooked scotch fillet in a sesame seed bun. The salad (lettuce, beetroot, carrot etc) was fresh and crisp, and the burger wasn’t drowned in sauce. The chips were great. Nice and crispy. Meanwhile, my lunch partner’s parmy was as big as my hand and (reportedly) very tasty.

This eatery in Northam WA really surprised me with the ribs. My son in law had the chicken schnitzel which was according to him a real enjoyable dish. I can recommend this place for a solid value for money and tasty dish.

We ordered the snapper and scotch fillet steak, both of which were tasty. Service was friendly, though it took a while for the food to be served. The major letdown was that there were unfortunately 2 little cockroaches crawling on our table.

Had a very poor experience at this hotel. First there wine list comprises of 6 white wines & 6 red wines two of which were out of stock. All the wines they offer are cheap nasty wines full of chemicals and preservatives. Would have been nice to have one or two better quality wines to accompany our meal. When this was raised with the manager (owners son I believe) I received a very rude and unhelpful response suggesting I go somewhere else. I think this young man is manifestly unsuitable for hospitality and probably should not be managing a business. The food, when it arrived, was equally unimpressive. Very unimaginative and commercial – cold soggy chips, boring salads, poor presentation. All round a very disappointing experience and one we do not intend to repeat.
