Great place to come to on a Friday night if you don’t want to face the crowds at every other city bar! They have moscato on the menu which is becoming annoyingly elusive these days!
4e Below. What can I say, youre a hidden gem in the undergrowth of a neglected street of a neglected city. And when I say undergrowth, I mean it, literally. Namely, due to your basement location, but also because you are more elusive than Mat Coleman since 2008. I never knew about that guy…Your special on a Tuesday is a curry and beer. This week it was one of my favourites: a green curry. For all accounts, it was well enjoyed. You also have a large sausage. In fact, when you flopped out 2 of those babies on the plate, it looked real scrumptious. Apparently it was.The dcor is that of Cheers bar meets Paddys bar. Quite homely. It says come with friends, or cum on friends. Everyone is welcome. Even watto. There were no di*kheads playing ridiculously loud acoustic numbers, rather a background playlist that drowned out the awkwardness when the waitress noticed Beau staring at her ladybits.Suggestions: spend more on advertising. If people actually know you exist, they might increase your patronage to a more-deserved 10+
We want the name changed back to ALHAMBRA. Sounds so much better and even though it’s the name from the past, it sounds like a great ‘now’ name !!A L H A M B R A
Not too shabby. This venue is quiet and relaxed, appealing to those whom wish to escape the hustle and bustle of other city based establishments. I visited with work colleagues for Christmas drinks and nibbles. We were served platters consisting of party pies, quiches, crumbed fish, samosas, spring rolls and bread with dips. Basic, yet more than edible. It was a quiet Wednesday evening and service was accommodating. Decor is a little outdated, which may explain the lack of popularity. I found it to be pleasant and clean, however.
The menu was nothing special so we ended up with fish and chips. Both were oilier than I would have preferred but tasted good and the salad was quite respectable too. I know it was a Wednesday night but I was surprised to find that we were the only table in the dining area. I hope it is busier for them on other nights but at least it meant fast service for us.
One night in Perth on business, this place provided a good night. With Stella and a pizza for $20 and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, it reminded me of home (England)
Laid back spot. Good lunches (excellent selection) in a cavernous get away from the madding crowd atmosphere. Good service and fair range of wines.
