This has been our number one city cafe for over a year now.The food is fabulous, not overpriced and all made on the premises. They also support a city homeless shelter by selling cute little plants in coffee mugs (What a great idea!). I’m gluten free and I’m pretty fussy but the chef has always been happy to adapt meals to suit me. (They also have GF bread). Some of my stand out favourites have been: eggs on avocado toast with coriander freshly picked from the balcony garden, sichuan salt and pepper squid (Adapted to be gluten free but still crispy!) and Thai beef salad. My partner loves the Memphis Beef Burger and often goes for the Turkish bread paninis in the window. We have fed the kids here no problem, though they mostly want to steal all of our rosemary chips (so good!). Goodies in the cake window are to die for and different every time we visit. This is a handy place to stop on the way to RPH medical appointments. If I have the kids with me I sit inside where there’s loads of room for highchair and pram (OMG clean high chairs!!). The elevated back tables are popular for business meetings or work groups having a few afternoon drinks. From those same tables you can look through a window to the kitchen and watch the chef hanging fresh pasta.I’m no coffee snob, but I love that I can try a different single origin coffee every visit. Plus it comes with complimentary sparkling water – a nice touch. My coffee snob friends gave the brew the thumbs up.Most of all, I love the feel of this place. It’s bright, roomy, relaxed and genuinely friendly.
