Booked in to the Firewater for dinner before going on to the Concert Hall next door for a brilliant night of Grieg and Dvorak. On arrival, we advised that we had just over an hour before the concert and we were promptly guided to our table near the wonderful waterfall feature. The dining room which was nearly full, without feeling crowded, is light and elegantly modern with a touch of ‘white-glove’ luxury. Our server arrived with water, confirmed and noted that we had a concert to attend and took our orders. With a recent ‘bad sirloin steak experience’ at an East Perth waterside restaurant fresh in my mind, we decided to order medium rare sirloin steaks all round.Within a very short time our drinks were delivered, closely followed by our meals. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were all mouth-wateringly tender and delicious. The accompanying vegetables and gratin potato were also on point. As we were on a schedule, we restricted ourselves to mains and drinks only. Our friendly server was appropriately attentive and very polite.Perth is a fairly expensive place to dine and, given that context, the Firewater Grille is a great value for money dining experience. Highly recommended
Very professional service and great ambience. We only came to try the desserts. The warm sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream was heavenly, my next fav was the orange and almond loaf with raspberry ice cream. White chocolate and mango pannacotta was slightly sweet but still good. Hoping to return to try other food here soon!
Went for a Wednesday work team lunch buffet, the setting felt upmarket and ambiance was great. Food was good but limited, with the price in mind, I still considered it good value.
I went for lunch on a weekday. It was not crowded so I liked the ambience. Food is limited compared to Atrium, Monterey or Cafe at Hyatt. Starters were ok but mains were a let down, especially Asian dishes. Dessert were good although limited in variety. The main let down was plates and cutlery were dirty. So better cleaning required
Came here twice for dinner and both times I was blown away by the accomodating, great and friendly service, the steak was spot on! And the game plate was also impressive, good flavours all round and cooked well. Dessert was very good. One of the best places in Perth cbd for a top steak!
We went to Firewater Grille for their high tea as our second choice. Our booking experience before we’d even arrived was fantastic – the staff were more than happy to accommodate our dietary requirements and discussed the menu with us beforehand. The restaurant is very quiet during high tea on a Sunday. We were only one of two parties in and we got a booth which made it feel more intimate. Our waitress, Lina, was wonderful! Very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food itself was delicious – sandwiches, goats cheese tartlet, gaspacho, arancini, scones and a variety of sweets. Every single item that I tried was better than the one before it. I wasn’t disappointed by any of the dishes. Plus, unlimited tea!For just the high tea, it was $45 per person, which is no more expensive than any other high tea I’ve had, and considering the quality of the venue and food, I’d say it was definitely worth the money.
Nice and luxury atmosphere. Friendly staffs. Few of us had our dinner few nights ago. Entree we had Asian pork belly with scallops and apple slaw. Pork belly’s texture was nice, love the simple seared scallop but the slaw was a bit too acidic for me. Asparagus soup with goats cheese and spinach gnocchi was plain and not too bad. Caesar salad is average. Main we had medium rare steak which were a little over. Staff did mention if we would like a new one but nvm, tasted great still. Chicken ballotine were pretty good, complimented with wild mushroom and mustard seed jus. Barramundi was served with barley lemon risotto. Both have to be eaten together as I think the risotto itself was too lemony. Desert we had lemon tart which is very lemony. Served with orange sorbet in chocolate web. For me there’re too much citrus and nothing much to tie all together. I ended up had the pastry only. Cheese platter was average. Another dessert was berry cheesecake, with boysenberry ice cream. Pretty good, loving the ice cream more. The down is definitely the serving time. The gap in between was way too long. And another down is the bread, they’re not freshly baked, can tell from the texture.
