The creamy pumpkin soup as per the picture, is not creamy or worth $8 for the tiny cup.I also got the Cesar salad which was average and the croutons are just chunks of bread which haven’t actually been oven baked/toasted, so essentially they just added soft bread to a salad. Not hard, Green Grocer. Your quality has slipped a lot.
Hannah had the sweet potato fritatta with a side of ham and apple slaw, which was good value at $9. Good amount of dressing on the slaw. A nice cool lunch. Also had a chilled mocha which wasn’t like an iced mocha as expected, it didn’t have ice and seemed to have been frothed but tasted great otherwise.Dale had a chicken and bacon schnitzel toasted sandwich, which needed to be a bit more generous with the aioli inside which left it a bit dry. Otherwise, great food!’
My first time visiting this place. I walk past it all the time in the Brookfield Place food court on my way to get either Thai or Japanese. I’m not sure why I always walked past… Maybe because I’m not really into salads and bread… However I’m glad I stopped and had a proper look today as they really have an impressive range of options which are all beautifully presented. Salads, fancy burgers, fancy wraps, yogurts, fruit salads, cakes, lots of juices, frappes and smoothies displayed on the menu. I went for the ham off the bone burger/brioche. Although it didn’t wow me I’d rate it about 4/5, it felt like something was missing… I’d rate the service 4/5 also as it was very helpful and patient with my questions (none of the displayed food has prices) however lacked a genuine smile. I noticed that the smoothie options are quite standard so I probably wouldn’t try one but the special green smoothie they were offering sounded good. I will be back.Came back for the chicken schnitzel sandwich. Was very oily as you can see in the pic. Nice enough though nothing special. Very carby, as expected.
New Faces, Same Great Service. After being away for a few weeks, I was surprised to see what seems to be a whole new team. Happy to see that they are carrying on the tradition of good service with a friendly smile .After a few days they knew my name and regular order. This paired with the amazing selection of salads, sandwiches, juices and yoghurts ( highly recommend the muesli and berry !) makes Green Grocer once again a favourite. Only problem being that everyone else seems to have caught onto this which makes for a bit of a crowd at lunchtime.
Great value. I am a big man so I thaught I will order the jumbo salad. When it was handed to me it weight a tonne. I ate salad and more salad and more salad. Chicken quinoa tasted great. Plenty left for tonights dinner. Great value
Inconsistent Banana Milkshake… No Banana! :(. It is surprising to see how quality can change with new/different chef/staff.After writing a positive review few days back, today I experienced a pathetic service.Ordered Banana milkshake with almond milk $5.00 expecting it to have a piece of banana.Instead I was given almond milk with sugar!Upon taking my first sip I inquired with one of the senior girls if it had banana in it?She said yes it has… She did not bother to check with the girl who prepared it.All it had was almond milk, sugar and yellow colour. No damn BANANA!!! Not even Banana flavour!Absolute rip off… I could buy a litre of Almond milk & sugar for $2.50.See attached photo. Not coming to this place again, not recommending it to anyone.28 Aug, 2014Banana Smoothie with Honey, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Almond Milk! Tasted Awesome. Will Try It with Yogurt Next Time. Today had the Banana smoothie with honey, vanilla bean ice cream & Almond milk! Tasted awesome. Will try it with yogurt next time! The staff is hard working and makes an effort to understand your dietary requirements. e.g. swapping the full fat milk to almond milk at no extra charge! $6.50 overall good quality!
This place is great if: A) …. This place is great if:A) you like saltyness, if you’re not a fan then probably best to avoid as most dishes seem to be well seasoned; B) you don’t mind asking for extra, they place the fun stuff (think chorizo or feta) on top of the tray of salad not through it so make sure you ask for more if you don’t like the amount you can see; &C) you have time to eat in, the eat in serving size is twice that of a container so ask for a spare container when eating in so you can have your leftovers for afternoon tea.So overall great food but beware of their stingeyness 🙂
