Love the ramen here, broth is nice and reminded me of the ramen we had in Japan. Hope they expand to include other flavours, will be back again when we crave for ramen. Recommended.
3.5 rating- expectations were high based on the reviews but sadly it did not meet them. The ramen broth was too salty for my liking in both dishes. Price was also quite steep with the extra toppings. I did however enjoy the crab frites. Service was friendly and efficient.
Went here for dinner, we both got the tonkotsu with all the toppings stand out star were the thin wheat noodles which were perfectly cooked, springy and delicious. Broth was rich and sweet which was surprising and different, which contrasted well with the bitter charred garlic flavour.The Nori sheets could have done with a little toasting before serving to freshen them up, egg was cooked well, remaining toppings were unremarkable.Restaurant was clean and inviting, great for small and large groups. I enjoyed the open concept and being able to see the food being prepared.
This is one of the best Perth ramen places in my books. Went for the spicy ramen, as I always do, which was very flavourful. Ippudo also offers a wide variety of other non-ramen dishes, which is great for sharing amongst a party of diners.
Finally got a chance to try Ippudo after the hype cooled down.The service was fast and nice, the price and portion was reasonable, if anything, the pork flavour was not as strong as the other tonkotsu ramen around.
Came here a while ago with a friend, and while I wasn’t wild enough over the ramen options to give it a try (I’m a Hokkaido-style fan), I loved the Izakaya vibe they had going.A great place to pop in after work and have some good quality, affordable sake with tasty snacks like their Edamame and Japanese Yam fries, which I go out of my way to purchase specifically. I love the friendly staff who greet you as you walk in, and the convenient boxes to store your bags so nobody trips over wandering between tables. It has both bar-seating and table-seating depending on your preference, and based on other peoples’ reviews of the ramen it seems obvious that I have to come back and give it a try! Out of the Japanese restaurant venues on offer in Perth, I rate this one highly for range, convenience, and value – the reputation of Ippudo both nationally and in Japan is positive, and it’s clear to see why.
It wasn’t too busy when we went there for lunch so we got a table as soon as we walked in. We had a toddler so we were seated in the large table in the middle and they brought over a high chair for my nephew.I quite liked the windows in the kitchen so you can see them working away on all the tasty food that they produce. We had the steamed buns and the gyoza to start and of course ramen as mains. We had both the pork and chicken buns and I preferred the chicken one since it had a crispness to it. I had the shiromaru special, the standard tonkotsu ramen with extra toppings on the side. The broth was nice and tasty and the toppings all gave it extra flavour, as did the sesame seed mill on the table.Nice food and nice service so not a bad place for a bite.
