Not the nicest or most modern looking dining place around, but food is not bad. We enjoyed the Chilli Mussels with Garlic Bread and the Tagliatelle Al Granchio (pasta with blue swimmer crabmeat). Both dishes were tasty and generous in portion sizes. Particularly liked how the mussels were cleaned out very well; no beard / smell.Had the Fish of The Day- fish was cooked well and moist, but would have been better if the skin was a little more crispy and chips served on the side, as some of them turned soggy with the fish ‘juice’ dripping onto them.Tiramisu was on the sweet side, light and pleasant.Weather was beautiful, hence we opted to sit outside. With the nice breeze blowing, good food and bubbly service, we had a lovely dining experience.
The service was the worst I have ever had. I request oysters Kilpatrick and repeat this to the waitress 4 times as I dont think she was understanding. Once the oysters came out they were not Kilpatrick but natural. We requested a glass of white wine which was warm and when we asked for ice (which we asked 3 different people) we were finally told they didnt have any as the machine was broken. Once the mains came out they waiter left without offering any cheese, cracked pepper and before we could ask for a spoon for the pasta. The couple behind us also waited 40 minutes for a beer and we began discussing how bad the service was with them. Never will I go back.
Came here on a week night and got a really attentive and friendly staff who served us. Portion was substantial and the service was excellent. We had the tagliatelle al granchio which was really fresh but we think it can do with a little bit more chilli for a bit more kick. Our other dish was the tagliatelle delicate which was tasty and pasta was cooked al dente. To conclude our dinner we had the tiramisu to share which we love! Light and fluffy and we definitely could taste the coffee.
Had a really bad experience. Definitely wont be going back. Service was slow, wrong food arrived on the table & they were not willing to change it because they had already cooked it. Got chicken penne instead of vegetarian penne. Then got vegetarian spaghetti instead of penne.
Food is generally good, but too bad about the fish that was given in the seafood platter. It is usually barramundi but it was basa fillets given and the moreton bay bug was not so fresh as the meat is bland. I supposed the cost of the dish made up for it at $55.
I’d been here once before for a work do and the food was lovely, so I recommended it to a friend when were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We ordered ice coffees as we’d been craving them all morning, a magherita pizza with italian sausage and the main size calamari and chips. The iced coffees were quite literally the WORST I have ever been served. No ice so they were luke warm, no sugar, no icecream and NO coffee flavour. Just watery brown milk with unsweetened cream squirted on top. I’m not usually one to send things back but these were undrinkable. They agreed to remove them from our bill. Our mains came out not long after, and I have to say, I’ve never seen an Italian restaurant use manufactured pizza bases. It was thick and chewy, more reminiscent of a McCains freezer pizza. We also had to ask for basil, as there was none on there. The sausage was delicious, but used sparingly. The one saving grace was the calamari. It was lovely, tender and tasted fresh. It wasn’t enough to make up for the abysmal iced coffees and the pizza though. We also had to ask for cutlery and napkins as none were brought out with our food. We were so thankful we had an entertainment book voucher, I would have been annoyed to pay full price for the quality of food we were given. We went next door to Dome and got actual iced coffees when we were done.
I had a movie at Paradiso at 1pm so I wanted to fit in a quick lunch; 40 minutes beforehand. I decided to go across the road, and asked the waiter whether they could deliver. He assured me they could, and brought out the menu. I asked for his suggestions on pasta and matching wine, and went with tagliatelle al marinella, Fresh homemade pasta tossed with a selection of seafood in a traditional napolitana sauce, and a glass of cabernet. Drinks came out quickly and the pasta was not too far behind. It looked good and overall the pasta was very enjoyable with lots of seafood and mussels. Service was attentive, and the waiter had a good sense of humour keeping punters amused. Basic, but tasty Italian, in the heart of Northbridge.
