We are not often in Perth but when we are we always call in. A bit anxious this time as my wife is on a strict diet since a year but she wanted to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary at Romany. Well surely no regrets it was a long time since I have her seeing enjoying her meals from starter rill desert. No problems whatsoever, both staff and owner went out of their way to make this night special. All dishes (and drinks) were great as usual and we really had the best night since a long time. Huge thanks to all at Romany, we will be back again!
Nothing has changed in 30 years (carpet looks the same). A cafe with tablecloths and space between the tables – good acoustics. Efficient service, huge serves – order off the menu or just ask for what you want and they will make it for you. Wine is a little exe but … always is! Enjoyable night not elaborate but wholesome.
I eat a lot but this time I had a salad and I was really surprised with what I had. The best caesar salad I ever ate, and the last time I had tried it was at my boy’s wedding. It was tasty and it brought pleasant memories so 5/5 from me.
A very quite and welcoming restuarant. Excellent, friendly, attentive service. The meals seemed quite expensive but the serving size was great. The marinara was huge and packed with fresh mussels, prawns, fish and squid. The pasta sauce was light and tasty. A great meal. Definitely worth a try!
Consistently good Italian restaurant with a friendly, homely atmosphere. We keep returning there almost every week, as we live in the neighbourhood and we always feel welcome and well taken care of. Large portions of well cooked Italian comfort food, good price.
Ordered three chicken parmigianas, recieved three veal parmigianas instead, two got sent back to the kitchen to be fixed, staff were very sorry, bought two back out one was chicken and one was veal again, pointed it out to the staff who were then very rude and said sorry I obviously cant help you because it’s obviously chicken, they took it away and came back 15 minutes later and didn’t apologise but did say it was veal again. Owner was quite rude but did take one of the parmigianas off the bill and our drinks which came out forty-five minutes after we got our food and had basically finished eating. Very over priced $28 for a small chicken parmigiana, literally just the chicken, it’s another $6 for chips and another $6 for a very small salad, chicken was over cooked and the chips were under cooked, won’t be going back.
Not too bad, does not have the same vibe as the old Romany (bring back the hats)For what you get, it is a little on the expensive side. The wine menu is decent.
