Aiming for quick light lunch today I decided to try the famous Xiao Long Bao (Steam Pork Dumpling) from Shang Hai Restaurant in Northbridge. It taste really good, and value for money. $7 for a portion of proper Xiao Long Bao. The wrap was soft but not easily break, so the juice landed safely on my mouth! Recommended only if you want to have a quick meal, as the restaurant is not really nice to sit on for long time.
Horrible and worst restaurant ever been to, serving size extremely bad, $21.9 for tooth fish clay pot which only have 4 nuggets size pieces of fish and full bowl of greasy eggplant, complained to owner and he said it’s always been like this?! NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!
I wasn’t sure when I walked in, I felt a bit reluctant to sit and have dinner here; but I decided to try anyway. The place was very quiet when we walked in; there was only 1 table at the time. The menu is not the greatest and didn’t excite me. I ordered fish fillet in special liquor sauce, deep fried prawn in homemade sauce, and hot & spicy shredded pork. Surprisingly, both the fish and the prawn were nice; especially the sauce. The shredded pork is not spicy enough in my opinion. Portion is generous
Hidden treasure place. Traditional Shanghai flavour, dumpling, bun, pancake, so much to try. And the price is good. Really nice. You must try for it. Love this place so much.
Xiao long bao are amazing!. Ate here tonight and was very impressed by their dumplings. The xiao long bao were amazing – they had a very strong flavourful meaty broth. I could have eaten three orders just to myself! Will definitely be coming back here.
Best Xiao Long Bao in Perth. Eat here regularly and the service is always friendly and warm. Always get the xiao long bao, sheng jian bao, spring onion pancakes and have tried a few dishes. Their soupy dumplings are the best I’ve had so far in Perth and they are one of the only restaurants that do a legit sheng jian bao. It’s quite a small restaurant and the owner/chef usually comes round to ask how the food is. I will keep returning for those dumplings and the duck is quite tasty too.
Great authentic Chinese food, lovely service from what seems to be a husband and wife team. He (the chef) came out to make sure our food was ok. He was very proud of his efforts and has every right to be. We ate the salt and pepper squid. Not too oily, not chewy and a nice touch of spice with the chill. Then we ordered the beef fillet hot pot. Enough for four people, this super flavour some dish came with the most tender beef strips, noodles and cabbage and was an absolute highlight. Will be heading back for more!
