*RATING IS A 3.5* Came for dinner for 4 on a Saturday night and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. Decor is quite impressive when you walk in & the restaurant has a distinctly classy feel to it. Service was fairly attentive (especially as there were only 2 other tables dining), food was a little hit & miss though. Started with the vegetarian beancurd spring roll which was my least favourite dish (came out cold & was not tasty). We had the Peking duck 2 ways – san Choy bow (delicious) & pancake wraps (each wrap contained mainly duck skin & hardly any duck meat which was a bit annoying considering what you pay for the dish). Be sure to ask for more sauce as they come out quite dry/bland. My favourite dish of the night and one I would highly recommend is their signature dish of crispy lamb with Bao buns, which was absolutely delicious! Finished off with Kai lan (ordinary), fried rice (nice), and steamed ginger prawns in clay pot (these were ordinary & really quite difficult to eat as they come whole & unshelled with the head, not worth the $42). On the whole it was a pleasant dining experience, but when you are paying premium prices, I would expect the food to all be consistently excellent which it wasnt. Still worth a visit if you are looking for more of an up market but classic Chinese restaurant.
