Had checked out the menu before visiting and had decided on the pancakes, unfortunately the menu has changed which totally disappointed me. The current menu is pretty standard so ended up just getting the ham and cheese toasted brioche. Was tasty if slightly greasy. The chai latte was lightly spiced and seriously creamy..really delicious, so would return just for this! My boyfriend had the eggs benedict with bacon which was very standard but nice. Coffee got a massive thumbs up from him also though. The cafe itself is nice and open with lots of local ladies milling around for a post gym gossip.
Gotta love Cimba!! It’s been here, and we’ve been going for years but just finally had the chance to review it. I ordered the porridge with poached pear and cinnamon. It was really tasty and comforting especially on such a cold morning. The poached pear was super juicy!
Early mornings consistent coffee – the menu change sufficient to tempt me back and a reasoning on price haven’t occurred but ever hopeful. The wait and other staff have grown, havestopped the banging and shouting to customers two metres away and I didn’t realise before there is actually music in the background? The trend on service is up, the quality of coffee remains high … and now …menu change?… and prices? … I Dream the Dream for Less (sic.) Miserables …or goodbye?
Welcoming staff. Clean. Tables outside. Newspapers available. Good menu options – the porridge was delicious. Hard to choose. Coffee good. Juice was also delicious.
Cimbalino cafes started out focussing pretty much on serving good coffee and I think when the right barista is on, you’re likely to get a great coffee. I’ve never found their food to be a draw card and it can be pretty pricey for what you get. This outlet has had big bucks spent on the fit out but the crunch for me is still whether 1) service is good2) coffee and food is top quality and good value. Service at Cimba is friendly and efficient; I prefer Vans, located just metres away, for food and value. At $4.80 for coffee I expect amazing … so I go elsewhere.
Visited Cimbalino this morning 9th October and was most impressed. Very busy indeed and the service, coffee and wait staff were the best ever. Absolutely faultless! This is how a cafe should be run. Will definately be back again.
I was pleased that there was a healthy option on the menu and so for breakfast this morning I ordered the quinoa green bowl. The kale, asparagus and quinoa were cooked well but my poached eggs were a bit overdone and the yolks weren’t runny like they should be. I also found my dish lacked seasoning, I needed to add more salt to it and perhaps a wedge of lemon or some sort of dressing would be nice, however the tomatoes did give the dish a bit of tartness. Overall I liked it and that I was giving my body good nutritious food that wasn’t greasy or carb heavy. I also enjoyed my coffee.
