The fact that the owner operators of this cafe can stay in business for so long is absolute proof that a top location with a great view will compensate for atrocious service from rude staff every time … and especially in Rockingham.
The location is the only thing going for this place. It could be amazing! Unfortunately, it really isn’t any good. I ordered poached eggs on toast with a side of mushrooms and a skim latte. My sister’s hashbrowns were chucked on my plate so I was a bit confused that it was what I ordered. I had asked for the poached eggs well done – one was and the other was super runny. The mushrooms were really oily and there wasn’t many either (considering it was $3.50 to add them). The latte was not warm enough.
Disgusting. Really disappointed with this cafe. Been there for a few times and my experience was terrible. One time i got overcooked poached eggs and soy latte which didn’t taste like soy at all (i just assume that they ignored my request), next time found a few hair in pancakes never ever coming back
Won’t be returning.. Decided to go here for lunch, at around 12pm, so just the beginning of the lunch menu. A few of the dishes we requested we were told they had run out of, which happened to be all of the vegetarian/vegan meals, so my friend ordered a steak burger, but without the steak, or egg, which were listed along with caramelized onion, barbecue sauce and salad as the ingredients of the burger. But when it had arrived, it had melted cheese in the burger, which was not listed on the menu as an ingredient, and my friend can not eat. As well as that mistake, it was missing caramelized onion and barbecue sauce. My friend informed the waiter, which she took it away, and moments later the chef brought it back, and said it doesn’t have any caramelized onion, because they had run out, quite rudely. And then when my friend told her again that she can not have cheese, she looked very annoyed and snatched it away, and could be heard arguing in the kitchen about how annoyed she was. Which really made the experience worse. Eventually they had ‘fixed’ the problem, in which it looked as if they had just cut the cheese out of the bun, and poured in a bunch of barbecue sauce, without any apology, and we still paid full price for what ended up being a soggy roll with vegetables, which they had tried to fix by pouring barbecue sauce into it. If deciding which cafe to go to, you’re best to give one of the ones on either side a try, as I can tell you this one is poorly run.
Absolutely disgusted that a mother and her disabled son were turned away as he was in a wheelchair. Anyone who believes in human rights may want to eat elsewhere.
Kid friendly!!!. I just read a post on Facebook. A lady went to this cafe with her friend & her disabled son. A lady behind the counter said she didn’t want the wheelchair inside the cafe. So, kid friendly but obviously not disabled kid friendly!!! Shame on you.
Crap. Food is awful, Tony the owner is rude and unhelpful- dont waste your time or money on this dump.
