Best tapas! We went for dinner for the course meal but it is right by the shore so would also make it a lovely venue for lunchEverything was so delicious; none were the usual predictable flavours. My highlight was the creamy mushroom soup; my goodness I would come back just for this. The fried chicken was also amazing. The cutest dish for me was the marshmallow cheese! It was also my first time trying liver parfait but it was very good; but can see how it can be a love or hate thing. The dessert was phenomenal; we got the platter to taste everything and my least favourite was the hot cross bun macaron. Everything else was good.Best for sharing. Great food and vibes. The waitress who served us for also attentive and friendly.May I add, the sangrias were amazing. Tried both the white and red. My personal fave was the white but you cant go wrong with either.Would I come back? Heck yes

Always an enjoyable evening at Rusticos, loving the set menu options as I can never decide what I want, the timing and delivery of the courses is always spot on and we didnt have to wait for anything. One of my favourite places locally.

Good service by friendly staff, great location right across from Rockingham beach. Rustico is a tapas restaurant and i love the idea of small to medium share plates. On this occasion, we decided to order from the a-la-carte menu rather than the degustation. The food though was both hit and miss. The positives – the chicken liver parfait was to die for, ive had numerous pate’s and this is one of the best, so silky smooth and goes so well with the orange jelly. The dish also comes served with a selection of beautiful crackers and crispbreads and we had every last bit on the board and its a decent size board. The pork belly was another great dish, so tender with a crispy crackle, paired perfectly with the burnt apple and jus, its quite a heavy dish but delicious nonetheless. The negative – Plum cured Salmon. Unfortunately this dish completely missed the mark for me. I couldn’t get any hint of any plum and the mandarins were lost in the dish. It was pretty much salty cured salmon on bits of fennel & radish. That said i would still like to return(maybe not in a hurry) to give some of the other dishes a go, some of the other items on the menu did catch my eye

Another great night at Rusticos this week celebrating our friends birthday.Loved all the food…… the braised beef cheek with the gnocchi was amazing.

Food was really good! Had the set menu for $50 (have to have 4 people to do this set menu) was so full aftetwards! Great restaurant… dishes came out fairly quickly.. good service

Refreshing cocktails, quality tapas and great service and good. The duck dish was exceptionally succulent. A bit pricey but the quality makes up for it.

We have been regulars at Rustico for the last 4 years and we have never been dissatisfied with the food or service. I understand since our last visit there has been a new chef an a menu change. I would love to say this visit followed the pattern of the others but unfortunately, it didn’t.The prices have generally increased and the portions seemed to have shrunk. The pork belly, which was one of the massive draw cards (would tell everybody you guys had the best) has changed. The burnt apple sauce really lived up to its name and tasted burnt and unpleasant, the crackle was good but quite salty and the belly itself was quite bland and underseasoned. The portion sizes are considerably less generous. The desert plate was an odd combination of small items….It was different and smaller than its predecessors, one of the items (called rotten egg I think) not sure what it was? Weird flat disk of fondant textured stuff, not enjoyable, and small chocolate cups that looked promising but were filled with a coffee flavoured creamy mix that had lumps in it that felt a bit curdled. Mouldy raspberry in the sangria (just unlucky) but told it was freezer burn… big difference guys. Have had raspberries with freezer burn and they don’t look like that. Definitely mould. Asked about a particular cut of meat that was used in a dish as it did not state in the menu -We were told it was was something that it wasn’t (can’t bullshit a butcher). I wasn’t going to leave a review at all but You can’t change what you don’t know about. I sincerely hope the chef doesn’t take offence, but maybe takes on board that the new menu needs some of work. Saving grace is the cocktails and sangria we’re outstanding
