I waited over 25 mins for 1 single box of take away that cost me $6.50. 2 tables came in after 10 mins of me waiting and they got their food served before I got mine… usually its get what you pay for, but not prioritising customers is less than value for money. Not returning.
Wow, what a disappointment! Ordered home delivery tonight and the satay chicken was dry and chewy, the BBQ pork buns were nothing I’ve ever seen before the pork was tasteless and was inside what seemedto be deep fried bread, we also ordered ribs which tasted a bit odd and we didn’t get any prawn crackers!? In saying that the honey chicken was quite nice; however I would not order from here again.
Got a Groupon voucher for this place. Terms was very strict which was not mentioned on Groupon T&C when I bought. Each person must order an entree, soup, drink and dessert, which would use more than half the value of the voucher. Food decent, not the best. They used a lot of bicarb soda to tenderise the chicken meat for the satay sticks which made it taste bitter…yuk…apart from this the other dishes were so so.
Modern looking restaurant with a different style of yum Cha. I was surprised to have to order dishes off the menu but definitely a great concept as the food hasn’t been sitting around for ages. Every serve was freshly prepared. The squid tentacles were a bit small in serving size. Chicken feet may have been steamed or something – a bit soft almost soggy but the meat didn’t quite fall off the bone either. Having said that, I’m one of the odd balls who is too scared of the look and texture of chicken feet to eat it (took a nibble). The 30% off discount looks tempting too but we dined on a full price occasion resulting in a $128 bill for 6 people which I think is average. Personally still prefer heading to Northbridge but if you prefer less people, Golden BBQ is not bad at all.

I have not had Chinese for a while. When the 30% special arrived for this place I thought I would give their take-away a try. I ordered the vegetable spring rolls, honey chicken, sweet and sour pork, and chicken fried rice for just over $33 and it included complimentary deep fried prawn crackers. I was told my phone order would be ready in 10 minutes. I made sure I was there on time and found a nice and fairly modern restaurant. I will have to dine there sometime. Waitress was friendly, and my order had just come out of the kitchen. Wow quick service. My meal was still very warm and flavours were good. I will have to add this to my local places to come back to.
Compared to other Chinese restaurants I’ve eaten at, this was below average. The roast pork was okay, but the other dishes we had including the tofu claypot, combination fried noodles with egg sauce and honey chicken lacked the depth of flavour that other places have. Won’t be back again.
