Best fish and chips ever. I often go for dinner and the owner seems very nice. I really liked the grilled snapper and chips.
I ordered over the phone… Don’t do it!! Lady spoke very little English & couldn’t tell me any deals & they didn’t start cooking until I arrived 15 minutes later anyway. After the crappy start I was pleasantly surprised with the food.. Chips, fish & crab sticks were all cooked well & in clean oil!
Used to come here often.. Not any more,place was empty and my order was left sitting on the counter unwrapped while lady tried to operate eftpos for 10 minutes ( I had to show her) food was awful and cold and expensive.!
I had dim sims and chips. Best dim sims I have had in a long time and the chips were well cooked and crunchy. Someone else had the grilled barramundi and they raved about it.
Tried it last night. Ok, but not great. Not sure if it’s better than zeds. Will try again and hopefully keep you updated. Took a photo of the menu board too, but for some reason I can’t upload.
Great find in Hilton/Oconnor. Crunchy batter – that’s all I ask for. oh, and firm fish flesh. This placed nailed it. Not a soggy chip or wet battery fish in sight. It’s not called Howie’s any more, it’s South St Fish and Chips.I have never gone to the trouble of writing a review but the shop was quiet and I want to help their business. They deserve it if they are cranking out the goods like this.
Good Old Fashioned Fish and Chips. Nice fish. Everything is heavily battered and well cooked.
