We had steak sandwich and the fish and chips. Husband enjoyed his sandwich – I picked the batter off my fish as I didnt like the oil that seeped up when I stuck my fork in. Fish inside was nice and the tartar sauce was good.
I am fussy with coffee and enjoyed my long mac topped up. $5.20 for a large pretty reasonable for the airport and GOOD coffee a nice surprise. Service friendly and fit out awesome. Nice selection of private or share seating available. The flight crew were there getting their caffeine fix If it wasnt 6am Id be having a beer.
Once again, heading back to NZ for a break, and looking for a pre flight meal and beverage. Quite happy to try out this place for the first time. The menu features pretty standard pub type fare, but the meals we ordered were more than up to scratch. Mrs had a chicken Caesar salad, and I had a grilled chicken burger, and they were both tasty and satisfying, nicely cooked and filled the gap perfectly. Add a lovely glass of ros and locally made cloudy cider, and were off to a great start! Cheers to the team for the friendly service and tasty meals.
I’m happy I made the decision to splurge on a meal here than one of the fast food joints at the airport. Caesar salad with poached egg for $14 was very reasonable but I would’ve preferred a better quality bacon used. Good dressing though and I liked the garlicky buttery croutons. The salt and pepper squid with chipotle mayo for $18 was a decent serve and tender.
