  Mr Doe and I visited Lot80 for dinner on a cold, wet Friday night in August. The weather outside was terrible but Lot80 was worlds apart from the weather. We started with the petite tapas board which was comprised of baguette, dukkah, EVOO and balsamic and chorizo dip. The bread was hot and fresh, the condiments lovely quality and the chorizo dip which was the consistency of a smokey paprika flavoured pesto was really tasty. We followed up with a shared wood fired pizza topped with goats cheese, mozzarella, smoked duck, walnuts, honey and rocket. The base was lovely and light, crisp from the pizza oven and covered in beautiful fresh, tasty ingredients; just the way a pizza should be. Starters and mains were accompanied by a couple glasses of Lot80 rosé for myself which was quite pleasant and paired well with the chorizo dip and duck and several Little Creatures Rodgers for Mr Doe (they do $5 stubbies which is the best value we’ve found locally!). To round off the meal we shared a matcha creme brûlée which had lovely smooth custard not overpowered by the matcha and a perfectly crisp top which broke just right under the back of a spoon. Both our waitress and the barman who we spoke to were friendly and gave great service so all up we had a great night. Even better is that it’s one of the few options other than pubs or take away restaurants in the area which is open of an evening for dinner as the majority of venues in the Margaret River area cater for lunch only. Lot80 will definitely be going on our list of regular haunts for our frequent south west weekends away.
