Petra is set in a picturesque part of rural Yallingup but seems to have downsized somewhat since the last time I visited. Â It is now a farm door shop offering tastings of their oils, olives and other produce and offering only coffees and biscotti for consumption at a small number of tables at the front door of the shop. Oils were nice but there is some strong competition in this region with many producers of similar products.
Pizza nights are brilliant. Good value at $14. Plenty of room for the kids to play too.
We arrived at the restaurant hopeful for a good, hearty lunch. Dishes hovering around the $25 – $30 range would suggest generous, tasty offerings.The latter, yes, but the former no.I have never seen such tiny, stingy meals in my life!I received around 8 pieces of venison carpaccio with a tiny salad. Bear in mind this is supposed to be lunch. If I were about the size of a possum, this meal may have been sufficient to make me feel as if I had actually eaten something.My father ordered the wagyu, which consisted of 4 half-skewers of the tiniest pieces of meat I have seen (think the size of playing dice). This came with a tiny shoot salad. Again, certainly not worth the money.If you want to feel like you’ve eaten lunch after eating lunch, don’t go here.
