Have been heading up to Roleys for the last 10 years and has never let me down until last night. I have heard that there are new owners and it certainly shows. The menu has been cut in half??? We did have a largish group-around 12 but waiting around 40 minutes for your mains in a small restaurant isn’t really acceptable. Roleys has always had lovely produce and their steaks have always been cooked to perfection. Got to say the produce is still great but my steak was over cooked. Very disappointing!!! Hopefully it was just an off night and not the end off a one off if not my favourite restaurant.
Amazing view !! It’s breathtaking. Great customer service I had the vegetarian platter it was very tasty ! The non alcoholic mojito was really yummy Will definitely be back .Update: went back to roleys, had a great evening. New owners were extremely friendly and the customer service was 10/10. Loved damper and dips, the sticky date putting was great , although I feel as though more cream or icecream would be better. The veggie curry was good although the veggie platter is way better!
We went for dinner on a Fri night and our table was right next to the verandah windows with amazing views. Service was friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly as well. We had a salad & the garlic prawns. The salad was great & so were the prawns, however rice served with the prawns was very little. Chocolate fondant for dessert was just amazing.
I had lunch there todayvwith a dear friend. I have been before but she hadn’t. It’s always nice to go somewhere new especially when previous visits have not disappointed. We sat on the veranda and soaked in the splendid views. The atmosphere is amazing with both inside and veranda providing points of interest.Staff were incredibly friendly, efficient and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, even moving our table out of the direct sunshine. The meal was first class. I was delighted to see a great choice of Gluten Free. I opted for the chicken and pork belly and my friend choe the red spotted emperor with orange sauce. Both meals looked, smelt and tasted divine.Coffee and dessert topped it off perfectly. Again a good selection of GF. I opted for the Creme brulee abd my friend had the hazelnut pav (hard to beat). Thanks Roley’s. A perfect lunch.
Came for our first wedding anniversaryVery limited selection of vegetarian food available. 2 salad dishes and a tasting plate. For the price I believe this restaurant should offer herbivores more than a salad. I ordered the polenta and pearl cous cous salad, it was extremely bland and tasteless even after I smothered it in salt. My partners fish and chips was OK I ended up sharing that with him, although we were not charged for the salad I left feeling annoyed and hungry. The establishment is surrounded by the likes of Genesis, earthbound, Soulja’s and the organic circle, they need to step up their game to charge what they are for mediocre vegetarian food. Won’t be back
I feel pretty sad at the state of my experience last night. My husband and I had our wedding here 5 years ago and we went back for a romantic dinner. We were seated at a table where I was facing a wall with my back to the whole restaurant. I’m surprised the space was used in such a way, especially because it would have been simple to shift the tables and still seat enough people. Since we had our wedding the tables have been replaced and they look terrible and are made poorly. They look beachy (even though it’s a rustic country restaurant) and rustic but they are not practical, my wine glass wouldn’t sit flat and everytime I put it down it would wobble. I don’t eat red meat and there wasn’t a chicken dish available (the only chicken on the menu had pork with it) so I ordered the salmon dill pasta. The pasta tasted like it had been cooked (for too long) the previous day and kept in the fridge. It was like low quality pasta from the super market and tasted gluey. The salmon was powdery and the sauce was underwhelming. All this for $35. I could have made far better at home. The chilli chocolate souffle was fantastic, only being chilli I could have used a bigger scoop of double cream, it was amazing though. The wine was lovely too. I would also suggest taking down the kids drawings from reception and all the love heart knick nacks and cheap artwork. This place is charging high end prices and trying to appeal to families at the same time. It’s not possible. Create the environment to match the prices you are charging and pay homage to the building and community. We will be back and no just really hope next time it is better
I was very disappointed last night. I’m very sorry to say as rolyes on the ridge was one of my favourite places. The service was extremely bad. The girls were friendly enough but it took so long to get our drink order and had to ask 3 times. It wasn’t even busy. Then we waited 20 mins for one…
