Decent pub food which was great value for money as it’s on the entertainment card – 2 for 1. We came here for lunch and both ordered steaks. Mine was a touch overdone but was still a good quality steak and juicy. Too much red onion in the salad, good chips and nice pepper sauce. Blatant beer rip off 31 Dec 14. Went to get a pint today and the taps were not working. I was told I could only order bottled beer so I ordered a Millers Chill 330ml stubby. Price $9.50. Complete and utter rip off. I could go next door to their bottle shop and buy a whole carton for $40. I complained that if their taps were working I could get a pint for 50 cents more?They gave it to me for $5. How many people didn’t complain today and paid twice what I did for the same beer. Outragious behaviour from this pub.
Lunch menu review. Ordered red Thai chicken curry for lunch today. What I received was 2 chicken tenders with onion and steamed pumpkin with bland curry sauce poured over with overlooked white rice. Totally unseasoned.$20 wasted. Overpriced and tasteless. Don’t waste your time! I won’t be back.
Went here last night for $16 steak night and was disappointed. I realise that you can’t expect much for a $16 steak but it wasn’t even worth that much. I asked for medium and half my steak was gristly and burnt where the otehr half was still bleeding. Had the topper of garlic prawns for $5 which consisted of 3 small prawns and was nice and hot but fairly tasteless. Good portion of salad but they didn’t bother to put any dresing on it so it was like just eating plain lettuce and cabbage. Mushroom sauce was good!Not a great experience considering that the food here is usually pretty good. However the setup and feel of this place is great. Was open mic might and so had a good mixture of great and terrible local entertainment. Would go again- just not for the steak.
Diabolical substandard inedible. Went there for tea last night I ordered salmon, when it arrived it was a lovely fillet of salmon served with a salad. I was disappointed firstly as the menu or special board did not indicate it comes with salad, I was expecting vegetables like the other meals. The salad was small containing an overly large amount of olives huge cherry tomatoes which I couldn’t cut with my knife but the worst thing was the salmon was raw in the middle, I just wasn’t able to eat it so had to send it back. After a long wait and everyone had finished their meals my replacement salmon arrived, what I got was the scraggiest end of black meat of salmon that they could find, which tasted off as if it had just been retrieved from out of the bin! I was unable to eat it – it cost me $28. Did they offer me a refund, free drink or meal next time, were they shocked and apologetic no they weren’t, that will teach me to dare to complain about uncooked salmon and send it back silly me should have eaten it!!!
Pepperberry Squid. Will always come back for more. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crumbs. Awesome with Aoli Sauce. Great on a Tuesday night with Mates Rates. Buy a Main Meal and get another for $6.00. Bargain.
