Tucked away in a semi industrial area right near Swansea St markets, the place is pretty simple and likewise the menu is fairly simple too with just a handful of items, a good sign. Had mixed noodles with chicken, and beef noodle soup, the winner being the mixed noodles, but both were really good. Will definitely go back, and definitely for the mixed noodles. In the grand scheme of all the various Chinese cuisine restaurants that exist in Perth – Yunnan cuisine being not too common – for less than ten bucks this dish is quite unique and awesome value. Will be going back on a weekend to try their Over The Bridge noodles too, unsure what it is, but sounds like fun. Absolutely love that this place is in my neighbourhood, thanks Mei’s!

My all time favourite side dish is chilli seaweed and lentil jelly, typical street food taste, actually all her cold dishes and noodles are all so tasty especially the little pot noodle, I love the soup base, not too heavy not too light, just about the right taste,MEi never disappointed me and my friend, always come to Mei’s noodle when I run out of choices!

Don’t let the exterior put you off, here in the industrial area nestled amongst the factories and warehouses is an absolute cracker of a place, serving authentic noodle dishes from Yunan province, China.I had the mixed noodles with chicken and was met with a huge serve of fresh noodles boasting a fantastic mix of tongue tingling sechuan pepper, pickled vegetables and firey chilli. The menu also has some wonderful looking side dishes and desserts! Service was kind, efficient and friendly.Do youself a favor and grab something for lunch or dinner, just remember it’s cash only.

A recent visit was unpleasant , my friends and I went to this place a few times ago, but this time both of us have found the quality of the dishes have a noticeable decrease…too much salt was added in my mixed noodles and I’m pretty sure they have changed the rice noodle to another brand which I don’t like it at all. Hope they can have a improvement on their food quality control.

This is an absolute gem!! Highlights are the mixed noodles, little pot rice noodles and Cross the Bridge Noodles available only on the weekend!

I spent 2 years biking and backpacking around Yunnan, and travel back to Lijiang every year to visit the friends I made there. I’ve dreamed for years of being able to find the same tastes in Australia–and here it is in Perth! The food is 100% authentic, and I’ll go one step further–it’s even better than in Yunnan in many ways, as so many restaurants there now flood their food with chemicals and additives. There’s a good reason the Chinese queue up here for food–it’s awesome!Pros:* amazing food* amazing chilli* no additives* cheap!Cons:* busy at lunch and dinner* menu varies depending on what’s available, so what’s popular might be gone before you can order it.Evens:* cash only–come with cash in wallet* flavours can vary between visits–supposedly because it is prepared on premises* don’t expect fancy seating: it’s all plastic chairs.

For someone who’s been to Yunnan and had authentic Yunnanese food, this is just okay. I’m a huge fan of mixian(rice noodles) so I’m gonna come over again to try their cross the bridge rice noodles one weekend. Staff are very laid-back and helpful. Dishes are reasonably priced.
