Tried this new little Italian restaurant mid week for dinner. There was a small line of people queued up for a table outside (which perhaps set my initial expectations a little high) so best to book in advance. The menu had a nice selection of pastas and (after waiting a very long time for someone to take our order) we settled on the Linguine con ragu which was ok, the Spaghetti con granchio (crab pasta) which was tasty but a bit too small portion wise and the Fishermans platter to share which was pretty good (seafood was nice and fresh). Finished off with the Tiramisu for dessert which was very nice. Food on the whole was good, service was unfortunately lacking perhaps because they seemed short staffed, but it did get annoying as the evening wore on. Definitely on the pricier side – beef schnitzel main for example is almost $40 which feels a bit too steep for what it is. They do a dinner pasta special in the first half of the week though which is good value.
Great place. Upon walking in you’re greeted by the friendly staff. The service here is fantastic – and what a good dining experience in Perth used to be (v. hard to find nowadays). The food is also good, we enjoyed all our meals – they also offer takeaway containers if you can’t finish it. The meatballs are great with a nice subtle fennel flavour, the carciofi – different to what I expected but absolutely brilliant. Our mains were all pasta dishes, again great and nothing to fault. Our food came out quickly and staff would come around every now and then but not overbearing. Will definitely return and would recommend for anyone looking for casual italian dining with top notch service.One thing to note is if you book online you may be seated outside – we weren’t aware of this when booking but wasn’t a problem for us as the heaters they have outside work very well however if you’re hellbent on inside dining make sure you notify them as I’m sure they would accommodate.
