Firstly, it is a superb location. And we all know that when you go on holidays, its all about the location. Conveniently located adjacent to the Mandurah Foreshore, this 3 star rated property has the only indoor heated pool in the Atrium of the hotel. Thus, the name. The 5 floors are arranged concentrically around the pool. So, the vast majority of rooms have a view of the pool area, which includes: a spa, sauna, restaurant cafe, bar, and cozy little cocktail lounge. The 1st two levels of the property have been refurbished, while the remaining three floors are a work in progress. The staff are ever so friendly and only to happy to serve you and ensure that your stay in Mandurah is memorable. The rooms are well appointed with different configurations of bedding, bedside tables, lamp, comfortable sofa and chair, coffee table, private bathroom with shower, mini wardrobe, reverse-cycle air con, coffee & tea making facilities, a bar fridge, and HD flat screen TV mounted on the wall, enabling viewing from the comfort of your bed. Some rooms are even equipped with kitchenettes, and the management are only too happy to put a microwave in your room, should that be your desire. The hotel is wheelchair friendly with access to the pool area via ramps that the maintenance staff will be happy to put in place by dialing 9 on the pool phone. If you have a patient in a wheelchair, as I did, ask the Front Office Manager to give you a room with wheelchair access. Now, for the best part of this holiday. Friday and Saturday nights are pizza nights at the Atrium. Can you believe? They have their own pizza oven right next to the pool area. You can even watch the chef prepare them and smell the wonderful aroma as they are cooking. I know, you’re waiting for the best part. Well, here it is. I consider myself to be a bit of a pizza connoisseur, having grown up in Brooklyn, New York and sampled Coney Island Pizza, which is famous the world over. Now, I can’t comment on what their normal pizzas are like, because we shared a gluten-free pizza, because I’m a Coeliac. However, I can tell you that this pizza was by far the best gluten-free pizza we have ever eaten outside of Calabria, Italy, and the largest. Much to our surprise, it was a full size pizza, as opposed to the half size pizzas you get in Perth. It literally blew us away, and was the highlight of our weekend getaway. I would go as far as to say that the hotel and it’s pizza would easily justify a trip to Mandurah. I would like to make special mention of the hotel staff that made our stay that much more enjoyable: Paul – Duty Manager, Shannon – Front Office Manager, Chantelle – FOH, Shayla – FOH, Danny – Chef Extraordinaire, Marie & Tracy in the Restaurant, and last but not least Elsa – the Housekeeping Wizard that performed small miracles because of her dedication to hotel guests.I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone planning a visit to the Peel Region. I give it a well deserved 4 stars.
