This place was full and really busy during Saturday lunchtime and there were obvious reasons why. The view was beautiful and the food was good. Although slightly pricey, the portions were large. The lamb in the lamb pasta dish was so tender and melt in the mouth! The linguine was a fusion dish which didnt quite work for me. The fish and chips, both battered and grilled were faultless.

Im a bit sad to have to give this score, and it would have been so easy for this to have been a 4 or 4.5 star. With a few easy improvements. Positives? I love the location. The wine list is small but adequate. The prices arent outrageous. The seafood platter was generous and enjoyed. But. Everything on the platter was fried. Why? Ribs and beef cheeks were generous portions and well cooked, but I didnt realise until they arrived that we should have ordered some veggies. Luckily We had ordered some fries to share so we didnt go hungry. They looked like tasty skins-on chips but they had obviously been cooked a long time before being served; it seemed like an attempt (a poor one) may have been made to freshen them up, perhaps by flashing them off in the fryer. But they were not hot and tasted, well, sort of used, if you know what I mean. Finally the pan fried fish of the day was the most disappointing dish. WellCooked but Small. And bland. We went on a Sunday lunchtime and the staff coped really well with the busy room. Well done. But if you could doSomething about the acoustics it would be an improvement as we found the collective noise of voices rather overwhelming. I realise that this is probably hard to achieve with all that glass, but it might be worth a try? Thanks anyway and to the staff take this as a constructively positive review. I know you can easily make those tweaks.
