I had lunch there, ordered sweet and sour spare ribs and half of my lunch I can tell they are not spare ribs. I am not even sure they are meat. To me it is just not honest and I am not going back there again. They lost my trust and I am not even sure whether I am getting what I have paid for.
We ordered fried beef hor fun and beef brisket hor fun soup. The fried beef hor fun was good – they fry the hor fun before pouring the sauce on so it has this nice char smell to it. The beef brisket soup was decent. Will go back cos it’s near our place. =D
Oh my word…..at least twice a week I get the urge to go back and get the mee Siam from this place…..no matter what we have it is always amazing and great big portions.Love this place to bits….probably my favourite restaurant in the area!
I suppose, we are considered as regular take away customers. It is so close to our house, perfect for the nights when I don’t feel like cooking. And if you don’t know yet, they also do home delivery!I’d categorize this restaurant as a Chinese corner at a food court; and that is pretty much the quality of the food. It is prepared fresh, quite tasty, and plentiful. I must say though, at times, the flavoring is a bit of a hit and miss, and some of the dishes I downright stay away from cause I’m a little too afraid to be disappointed. (Ah…the sentiments!) Our usual orders are Crispy Lemon Chicken, Crispy Beef in Peking Sauce, and Hot and Sour soup. I usually add more vinegar to the soup, but that’s probably to suit my palate. Price wise… I’d say relatively reasonable for the area, as it is lacking competitions for the 5 minutes walking distance from our house.The shop is small. Clean. And I know the lady who takes our order by her first name. And yes, I agree with another reviewer of this restaurant, that the staff is very accommodating.All in all, we will still come back. It’s just so convenient. And it’s nice to be greeted warmly.
Everything we have ever gotten from here has been amazing. I have some food restrictions one being I can’t eat onion and have always found resistance from Asian restaurants when asking for dishes without particular things, but Yen Yen always accommodate and the food is spectacular. Added bonus is you don’t end up with the usual ‘heavy’ feeling after eating this type of food
