Authentic, simple flavours executed with skill and respect and with high-quality ingredients. We had the tasting menu which I would highly recommend (get ready to be STUFFED when you leave!) – particular standout dishes were the squid-ink pasta, in which we could really taste the ink, and the absolutely to-die-for tiramisu. joy. a little pricey but worth it for the quality.
We had the $69 chefs selection matched with a $90 wine. It was worth the experience because it was different to the normal fare. The service from Indi was fantastic. However, being different doesnt mean being great, same goes with the wine. Its worth a try but like me you probably would not go back. Three stars is an accurate rating despite all the 5 star ratings.
3.5 stars. booked for and came early in the week, as soon as they opened. we were welcomed with a friendly smile, and seated near the window at a long table that you share with other diners. service was attentive throughout but not particularly friendly except for the guy who appeared to be the matre d.ordered the squid ink fritole for starters. for $16 there was a very small portion of food – 2 fried bread balls with a mound of marscapone topped with some salmon roe. wouldve liked more bread to make the ratio a bit more balanced. the marscapone was nice, but i wouldve liked the other flavours in the dish to have stood out more. we both agreed my mushroom spaghetti was the highlight of the meal – salty but at just the right amount, and really flavourful. also came with a generous amount of mushrooms and pasta was cooked amazingly al dente. only minor issue was that it was soooo ridiculously oily, i was literally shaking my fork to get rid of the oil from the pasta before each mouthful, and was left with a pool of oil at the end of the meal!my partners tagliatelle (veal and pork) was however, disappointing. lacked flavour and pasta was a tad overbooked. at $28 for a plate of pasta with a portion that by perth standards is quite small (i always have to take some away for a leftover lunch when we get pasta, but here i was able to finish everything), im not quite sure its a worth while experience. lets just say im definitely glad we tried this place and have no regrets, but im not sure we would return, due to the prices and portion sizes.
My dining partner and I had the set menu which was incredible. The highlight for us was, surprisingly, the anchovy donut! The only thing I don’t like is that you have to book far in advance, but having been now I can see why it’s so popular. Look forward to returning!
Wonderful, the food is amazing, I just think that the entree should have more procciuto and soft cheese (personal taste), the pasta was a little salty but that’s the way it is in Italy!. I recommend to book otherwise you will have to sit outside and wait. Our table wasn’t the best were two sits next to the door in front of the window bar but I understand is because it’s a small place and always full.
