Big and spacious bar with well priced, generous food servings. The pork sausages with mash and coleslaw/apple salad was delicious but maybe a little under seasoned. My friend’s steak sandwich was also very good but the coleslaw was bland. Good beer selection but the staff were a bit glum.
Have been here twice, and both times the food has been terrible. A pizza was ordered to share by myself and a few friends, we asked for prosciutto on our margherita pizza a which was an additional 5 or 6 dollars (assumed it was going to be plentiful) – however, we received a burnt pizza with a square the size of a 5 cent coin of prosciutto on each piece. After showing one of the floor staff, they agreed and politely asked to take it back. When returned – 1 or two more pieces was added to the pizza, such a disgrace. Will never eat here again.
I was attracted to the deal the Village Bar had on, which saw us ordering cheeseburgers. I understand that it was a deal, but the burgers were a lot smaller than what I paid for, and I would be unsatisfied if I had paid the full price. The staff appeared to be nice though.
I’ve been here with large groups of friends a few times and have had an absolute ball. However a group of 10 of us met at the Village bar on Friday and it was SO disappointing. We were planning on having a few drinks then going to the restaurant side to eat dinner. We were in the bar side for maybe 20 minutes before the noise became too much. The venue was in no way packed but we could barely hear one another speak. Once we moved to the restaurant side we were momentarily happy. Then the music was turned up.. and up.. and up. It was about 8pm and it felt like we were in a night club. Unless you were sitting incredibly close to the person you were talking to, you couldn’t hear anyone. Our group of 10 all felt this way and we ended up leaving about 9:30pm so as not to further strain our voices and hearing. Very disappointing!Steak sandwich that I had was average. Someone in the group ordered popcorn chicken and the chicken was so overcooked it was chewy.
Great place for a Sunday lunch catch up. Plenty of parking near by and very spacious inside. Service: Nice, polite and friendly. Food: Good pub grub, big portions to keep you full for a while. Chips were addictive. Atmosphere: Great relaxed environment, very chilled out place. Will return if I’m ever in the area again.
A very popular spot for Friday lunch! My workmates booked the three tables at the back and this gave us some respite from the noisy crowd. The steak sambo is always a winner with the gang although some of them found the medium rare steak a bit scary lol. I was happy as Larry as I like my steak sambo medium rare :-).The prawn fettuccine looked good and the lad was certainly hoovering it down! No complaints received for the squid.
My partner and I went to dinner here before seeing a show at the Regal. The staff were very friendly, attentive & accommodating. We ate a pizza & salt & pepper calamari, both were delicious and reasonably priced. The $10 expresso martinis were a bonus too.. We’ll definitely come back.
