The risotto was disgusting – boiled rice with garlic and cream. I don’t Veszelyite a qualified chef works there anymore. Very disappointed to throw away the food after paying cottesloe prices.
Thai chicken curry. Sorry but this was very disappointing, no flavour and full of potatoes, which I thought didn’t really going in said curry. Have been here quiet a few times over the years but quality has gone down hill..Except the lamb shanks are pretty good.Not in a hurry to go back, except it is convenient when all else is not an option. Good large serving for one with leftovers was the only positive..

Just a small corner shop that you can pick up a quick take away on the way home from work or on the way back from the beach. Portion sizes are massive and the food gives you a warm hearty feel.The pastas are pretty good. We always get – Duck Ravioli in a mixed Tomato, cream mushroom sauce (Never had duck ravioli anywhere else and its pretty good)- Chicken and Proscuitto Tortellini in a Cream Mushroom sauce- Prawn and Scallop Star Pasta in a mixed Tomato, cream mushroom sauceThe Veal Scallopini with mixed veggies and mash is amazing aswell.The shop looks old on the outside but if you don’t go in you never know what your missing out on!!!!Defs recommend it!
What are the new owners doing? Awful experience. This is so far from ‘gourmet’ food that it’s ridiculous. Ribs were runny and tasteless. Beef bourginon was an awful, bland stew. We actually threw away the food.
DELICIOUS! TO DIE FOR!. My husband and I ordered some take-away last night for tea, as this was our first time trying Chez Frederic, we ordered the full serving of lamb shanks and the Pesto Gnocchi. It was absolutely to die for and the portions were so generous we were able to save some for lunch today!! Along with the great food, the service was excellent.Would 100% recommend it!
Chez Frederic= Amazing!. I have been eating at Chez Frederic for years and have always enjoyed their food. The last few years I have noticed dramatic changes to the place.The staff are friendlier, looks somewhat newly painted and I am always feeling good when I leave. Keeping in mind of course the premises are old I feel it is better than ever.I regularly eat here (2-3 times a week). The specials are always different and I look forward to eating there this weekend.
One more shot!!!. I was about to order chez (havnt had it for about 3 months) and I read some of the below comments and remembered the last 3 meals I have got from them were pretty bad….one meal was so inedible I had to drive all the way back for a diff meal (without charge) was incredibly salty. I had another few meals after that from Chez and all seemed to be dropping in standard. I used to LOVE the ribs, now there very average (I haven’t been for 3 months so they may have got better again)the food used to be outstanding so im willing to give it one more shot.
