Went there on New Years days as all the fish and chips shops we normally go to were closed. Very average fish and chips, the fish was okay flavour but small serve and the chips were tasteless and not crunchy! The squid rings were really bad! Won’t be going back!
Open on Boxing Day when most fish and chip shops in the area weren’t. Thought we’d try it. Fantastic – well cooked crispy batter and very generous serve. Friendly and quick service.
The fish was thin and was more like a giant circle that had little flavor and the chips were dull..crab sticks average. For $11.50 (went up 50c) 2 thick smaller pieces would work better.
Great fish and chips near to Cottesloe beach, this place is my go-to for f&c while in the area and you can get to the beach within a few minutes drive. Quality fish and chips.
I believe the owneracted completely dishonestly. She refused to believe that I ordered three pieces of fish on the phone and insisted I pay for five! She called me a liar to my face. Of course I didn’t order five! The chips were good hence the one star but the fish was possibly not the snapper I ordered and definitely didn’t want to spend $100 dollars on fish and chips! especially since there are only three in our family 🙂 I will never come here again.
Went back to Swanbourne Fish Bar tonight for a meal and though they have never provided good meals on past occasions, they didn’t fail tonight to turn out the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Barely cooked chips covered in grease. Really poor I’m sorry to say.I like to support local shops, but I would not recommend based on tonight’s meal.
Perth is not a fishing city, so expect most fish here to be mislabeled. This place is actually a really nice little fish and chips place, but having lived on real fish my whole life, I find most fish and chip places leaving a lot to be desired.
