Ridiculous Charge. I posted this on their FB page yesterday:Coffee was burnt. Charge $4.30 for a regular macchiato then an extra 85c for PayPass. Rip off. To which they replied:Apologies Lou… Thanks for coming in, please feel free to come for a free coffee soon! Our Long Mach are double shot hence the price which are reasonable.. The 85c surcharge is for any eftpos purchase under $10. And we do provide signage plus the lovely girls will inform you! Hope you have a great weekend and enjoy this glorious days!I then replied:Thanks for the offer but no thanks. I order long Mach often so know how they taste and 4.30 is pricey regardless of 2 shots. There’s still a lot of profit in that which is why the 85c surcharge is a bit steep in my opinion. To which another user replied:Rip off!!!! Over $5 for a coffee. You have to be kidding???? It’s rude that your even trying to justify charging that much??? I don’t think your business will last long!!!!They seem to think that’s justifiable. It is ridiculous and profiteering at its finest.

Cafe Ultimo was not worth the 20minute drive. Having ordered their version of a big breakfast, we were sorely disappointed with the size, presentation and quality of food. The dish was noticeably smaller than the usual big breakfasts at any other establishment and each portion of food looked like it was slapped on without any thought-there was no love on that plate. There was more fat than meat on my bacon which was inedible anyway because it was burnt. The measly 3 pieces of spinach and 2 tiny slices of chorizo proved very unappealing. In addition to my undercooked eggs ( egg whites running into my toast) the severely burnt coffee was so bad, I only managed to drink 3 sips. $20 for a less than mediocre dish is outrageous. If not for a previously bought voucher, I would have never ventured to Cafe Ultifail.

Have eaten there a few times, food is delicious. Service is friendly. No complaints.

Good food & coffee. Really happy with the quality of the food and coffee here, but a bit disappointed that they charge restaurant prices when the decor is more of a casual cafe / deli.

Mediocre. Like others I went here on a voucher. UNLIKE a previous reviewer I wouldn’t consider myself a cheapskate for doing so, nor would I expect that the dishes are modified because I am on a voucher. Vouchers are used for businesses to gain quick cash flow, even out low peak periods, and advertise their presence. I love owners who hide behind fake profiles reviewing their own business…notFood was actually not too bad. However portioning was terrible; I had two slices of chorizo while my partner had about 8, and more bacon too! The service was friendly and attentive, but be aware this is like a tradie/truck stop cafe, not a cafe in the dining sense. Needs a bit of a revamp

Super Casual…. Agree with everything mentioned in the review below by Nap Ong. I am relieved that we came on a voucher, paying half-price seems fitting for the food that was served. We also ordered 2 x Ultimo Biggest Breakfast – mine with scrambled eggs, the other with poached eggs and turkish bread for my partner… Mine also came with turkish bread which wasn’t what was ordered, but that’s ok. Servings were uneven despite ordering the same dish (I had almost no spinach whilst my partner had only 2 pieces of sausage while I had several). I do like my bacon very crispy so I was happy to see a burnt, crunchy piece of it on my plate, however I don’t think it was intentional.Service is fast and efficient, food is about as average and uninspiring as it gets, and there is 0 ambiance – it is literally like a deli/lunch bar, not a cafe. Long Mac’s were served in plastic cups, not sure why, but I found this quite unpleasant. I was curious about the homemade raspberry white-choc muffins as they looked really nice, but the fact that they were sitting in a Bain-marie put me off. Unless this joint drastically changes, I would not bother coming back, even on another voucher.

Ummm… not really a cafe atmosphere rather deli. Came here for breakfast on Saturday morning. I was a bit disappointed as Cafe Ultimo is nothing like a cafe but rather deli. The coffee is ok. We ordered Ultimo Biggest Breakfast $20. It’s rather expensive for the quality of the dish. If the price of this big breakfast was $12, I would not have criticised this much. This so-called big breakfast is made of a few pieces of mushroom and Chorizo, a piece of oily Hash Brown, small thin piece of sourdough, and Heinz baked bean. This is the dish I can normally make at home. Comparing to other cafes we have been for breakfast, this please needs to really bring up their game.
