Arrived for 6:30 dinner and seated promptly. Started with a glass of Serafino Chardonnay (which Ive since googled and bought a case of) and that was the highlight of my meal. For entree we shared button mushrooms with cloves of garlic in a Marsala sauce and grilled, breaded chicken wings with a spicy mango sauce. The mushrooms were ok but I probably wouldnt order them again. The chicken wings didnt look appealing as they were a bit anaemic looking. Picking them up, the breadcrumbs stuck to our fingers. The chicken inside was cooked through, even though they looked like theyd not been under the grill long enough. The spicy mango sauce – we didnt think this had any taste at all when it was on the chicken – I had to look it up again in the menu to figure out what it was. There was certainly no spice. I asked the staff about a veal dish and what it came with as nothing was mentioned in the dishs description. (I HAD seen the note down the bottom of the page that garlic mash was $7, but missed the bit about all grill dishes came with rice, with the exception of one or two dishes). I was told the mash would be another $7, that I was unable to simply substitute. Now, I understand that if Id asked for something out of left field (or asked for EXTRA serving) I might be looking at an extra cost, but come on, mashed potato when its already on the menu? I was able to switch from sweet potato to regular potato at C Restaurant without being charged, so this rubbed me the wrong way. The veal was already $32 so that would have wound up at $39 with potato- I wasnt prepared to pay it. I was told that the manager could be asked to substitute and that this did occasionally happen, but I couldnt be bothered with this level of petty. It shouldnt have been an issue to start with. Instead, I ordered the salmon pizza with red onion and capers (hold the olives). Once I found it under the lettuce, it was nice enough to bring home the leftovers. My husband had the spaghetti marinara. I had to take two pics of this as when it was served, all we could see was lettuce. Luckily we had side plates to dump it all on. In his dish he had 3 mussels, 2 prawns, fish and calamari. Ladies toilet didnt have any thing to dry your hands on as the towel dispenser was empty. Wait staff were lovely and attentive. We had 2 glasses of Chardonnay and one JB – bill came to $106.
