If you like creaminess, this fantastic DAL MAKHANI may be right the ticket for you!It is a rich, spiced stew of whole black lentils (urad dal) and rajma beans, traditionally cooked in Punjab region of Northern India.I NEVER FORGET TO JAZZ IT UP WITH rotis and garlic butter naans SO YUMMY.For us, NAAN-obsessed Crispy, garlic fragrant NAAN with these soft, almost sponge-like texture and charred, crispy edges is one of my favourite add ups to an Indian lunch Naan originates from northern India, where it’s a central part of the cuisine in areas like Punjab and Kashmir. It is not so popular in the rest of India, as many could think. It’s actually the chapati or the roti that is more prevalent throughout India.Naan cooking is quite different from usual bread making. It is made of flour, yeast, baking powder, milk and yoghurt. The secret of a GOOD NAAN is YOGHURT, which makes it really soft. Milk instead provides for these lovely charred crispy edges.texture.The other secret is to stretch the dough (almost like Italian pizzaioli manage their pizza dough with their hands)m so that it gets an airy and stretchy texture.I may love to go into the details of naan cooking etc but I still do not feel like cooking it myself. It is still a prohibited zone for me..
One of the best Indian restaurants in Perth and great for local takeaway. The butter chicken is amazing and their Lamb Kohlapuri is friggen hot! Even for a chilli-buff like myself it was pretty intense. Worth a try for sure.
Haweli has some pretty decent food, I really like the garlic naan bread. All the other dishes are stock standard Indian food. For me, not as good as Chullah but still a good spot.
