Decor-nice, restaurant cleanliness-clean, staff -disinterested, food – not worth a return visit. Turkish bread and dips – bland tasteless with suspicious olive tapenade and two other unrecognisable dips. Soggy swordfish, watery Thai sauce(not Thai flavoured) and limp wilted snow pea shoots/garnish, terrible salad wilted with discoloured inedible feta. Battered Red Emperor and chips were deeply coloured like either they were taken too far or cooking oil had not been changed in awhile. Not enjoyable food. Will not be back. Would not recommend to anyone.
Great food, need more wait staff. I actually love this place. The food is great and it’s not so loud you can’t have a conversation. And it’s nice and close to home. Unfortunately the service always lets them down. Last night went with a table of 10 booked weeks ago. Had to go up to the bar to ask for menus. Took our dinner orders with great enthusiasm and accommodated a lot of minor changes to the dishes. Forgot our drinks. The same person taking table orders was also serving behind the bar, so it made it difficult for her to get away and service the tables. Food was great. Long wait to see if we will be asked if we want dessert. Ended up going to the bar to get menus, finally ordered and desserts were great. The point is we walked in at 6.30 and left at 10 after only having 2 courses. It was a school night and kids are now tired to go to school. It’s disappointing as it could be really great there.
Amazing. I went there with my family and it’s amazing. The service is great and the staff are always very friendly. if you want top notch food and an awesome time this is the place to go. They do breakfast lunch and dinner so far I’ve tried dinner only but breakfast and lunch will be great. I recommend having the pasta carbonara and the dips and bread. It’s a Hidden Gem!!
Hit and Miss. My partner and I went last night. I order the slow cooked lamb roast with roast vegetables. It came floating in oil. The lamb was tough and everything was tasteless, even the gravy didn’t add anything. It was disappointing as we were looking forward to having a nice meal. My partner order a Caesar salad with salmon which was ok. I’ve now been here 3 times over the last 3 years, I think the experiences have worsened each time. I wont be back for the 4th time.
Winner winner steak sanga dinner. Popped in tonight about 6pm. Fairly quiet at the time, but was served promptly and with a smile. Got the steak sandwich and bad boy chips- Fantastic and tastey and only took 10mins to come out.Washed down with a couple of frosty cold beers- sensationalCheers15 Feb, 2014Valentines Feast. Strolled down to the local last night for a Valentines meal with my wife to be. Booked for 18.30pm, promptly seated and drinks brought to us. Mrs got a cocktail went down a treat and my beers were icey cold!Great to see the place so busy! Lot’s of reserved tabs on all the tables great sign & lots of friendly staff getting around! To kick it off we ordered the tasting plate for 2- wow! Came out in good time and was perfect. I’m going to stick my neck out and say one of the best tasting plates getting around. The bread, chirizo, chicken and dips were perfect and went down a treat- generous portions! For our mains, I ordered the braised beef cheeks served with jus’ root vegies over a bed of sweet potato mash. My partner ordered the oysters Kilpatrick. We didn’t have to wait too long for them to arrive, and wow! Again what a feast. The beef cheeks I could have cut with a spoon and the mash. although not sweet potato and tasted more like parsnip, was silky! Could have done with a little more seasoning perhaps. The better half’s oysters were delectable and she thoroughly enjoyed them.We opted for some dessert. Ordering 2 serves of the Chocolate pudding with rubarb icecream and cream with some spun sugar garnish. Won’t lie, we waited a while for our sweetners. When we ordered the dessert the place was just starting to pump and get busy so we look at it all in perspective! But when it finally did arrive- WOW. 5 ***** star. The whole plate was presented beautifully and tasted amazing.. however like the mash we don’t think the icecream was the flavour we ordered- but beautiful none the less! All in all, a great night, fantastic food and we’ll be heading down there again sometime soon.CheersTHOMO23 Jan, 2014Quick bite for tea. Popped into the grove for a quick bite and couple of beers. Sat outside in the beer garden. Was nice to see quite a few customers! Was greeted warmly and served promptly. Got the steak sandwich with bad boy chips for $20.. was good however I have had better quality & serving size elsewhere for the price but hey, went down well. All in all another enjoyable little sesh.05 Jan, 2014Brekky Time!. After a successful tea in November my partner & I decided to return to our local for some breakfast. When I walk into the Grove B & G, the first thing that pops into my mind is potential. A little more advertising, maybe some entertainment on a Fri/Saturday night & the place could become extremely popular. The service this morning was excellent. We were well attended by the young waitress. Our meals of eggs benedict with a side of hash brown, sausage & bacon was large and very tastey & came out in good time. The only down fall was the hash brown- one small potato cake for $3 a little over priced. Otherwise, an enjoyable morning & we’ll be back for more.Cheers *****-Thomo07 Dec, 2013Great TUCKER. Had my birthday tea there on a thursday night 2 weeks ago- awesome! Can’t believe it took us so long to visit there. Tasting plate and pizza was excellent, steak sanga for the win all were generous servings! Asked for cocktails & barring not having a full selection range on the menu was very tastey when they arrived- extra beers were icey cold too with great selection! Meal timing was very good. Only down fall of the service was that we weren’t provided with a jug of water.-Great to see chef Dave hasn’t lost his skills with pots & pans since his Pig & Whistle day’s. Definetly be returning for another meal. CHEERS *****
The food is always great, when it comes! Everytime we go there we wait about an hour for our main meals from ordering. The time management doesn’t seem too good. Good food, poor service.
I went to grove grill last week and to my suprise the food was perfectly cooked and all staff were very relaxed . i overheard the two waitstaff discussing the wonderful new chef . the fillet that was wrapped in procutto was excellent and my partners barramundi was also unfaultable . shame the big fat manager type couldnt do his simple job to compliment the amazing change in the food since our last visit . good work new chef now just replace the bad attitude manager guy and i’d happily refer grove grill to my friends .
