Very clean, minimalistic cafe. The coffee was ok, could have been a bit hotter. The breakfast burger was tasty and a super soft bun but was messy to eat as the bacon was left in big strips so was hard to bite and all the sauce etc. dripped everywhere but maybe Im just a messy eater?! Haha. Interesting breakfast menu with Asian influence which I would like to come back and try.
Nice modern cafe with artistic arrangements of food. You can do simple like my aunt had a ham & cheese toastie with a hot Choc while I experimented slightly and tried a coloured coffee and their smashed avo. I like it however I doubt Ill get the latte again, too strange for my taste.
AF&C want to be different by selling unique food, but for me the combination of ingredients were weird. They put many elements onto their dish but those elements were not syncing and talking to each other. The result? Wacky dishes… my sister-in-law and her friends came here after me and they commented pretty much the same thing (I didnt say anything prior to their visit). This cafe has potential but they need to review their dishes.
This new cafe is just around the corner from us so we decided to have brunch there one weekend. It is the sister cafe of the popular 1982 on Rokeby Road. The interior is modern but still feels cozy. We tried the taro and beetroot lattes. I didnt enjoy the beetroot latte and couldnt taste anything different or special about it but the taro latte was really nice. We also had the Poke Bowl and Morning Burger. The dishes look gorgeous and are perfect for Instagram but didnt taste as good as they looked. Not bad but not outstanding either. The Morning Burger could do with some sides to make it look more substantial. Overall, satisfying but there is room for improvement.
