How not to run an Indian restaurant:1. Make your dishes watery and unappealing.2. When a customer asks for a papadum (advertised at 50c) give him two, and charge $2. When this is queried, relent and charge $1. Do not explain why you supplied 2 when only 1 was ordered. 3. Push the papadums into the watery curry so that they are flaccid and tasteless.4. Smile blandly and ignore customer’s dissatisfaction while taking his money.
Outstanding food!!!. I work in Fremantle and every dinner break I go to Khan Dhaba. I just want to state that I don’t know the owners or anyone who works there, I am basically writing this as a testament to their delicious food; it’s not often that you find delicious authentic food at a decent price in Freo! It’s located in the Old Shanghai food court, in my opinion it’s the best food in the whole place… along-side Taka’s (v cheap) and Tasty Taste (good if you like tasty large dishes). They have sooo many options (over 20 different dishes you can order) including heaps of super tasty vegetarian options. I often go for the vego meals as they just get it SO right (I haven’t really tried the meat dishes but might give it a go soon). They also have a buffet option available.I often see an older Indian woman working in their kitchen…. and I’m convinced that she is the reason the food is so tasty; it’s completely authentic. They don’t use flavour enhancers, I’m sure of it… the spices taste ‘real’.I tend to get the Aloo Ghobi Pakora. Do yourself a favour and give it a go; meals are a decent size, there’s plenty of interesting stuff on the plate, it’s cheap ($10-$12 for a full plate) and it’s completely authentic & delicious.
