We visited Rivendell yesterday as we had seen in the local paper there was an amateur photographers exhibition on and our son is interested in photography. We looked at the pictures which was great and then decided to have a coffee. The restaurant was almost empty when we ordered 2 coffees a hot chocolate and a piece of cake-one of only 2 left in the cabinet. It was only about 2.30 so was surprised there wasn’t more choices. The drinks arrived and there was no sugar on the table or on the coffee saucer. The waitress said she would get some and it arrived in a recycled moccona coffee jar that had seen better days. The 2 staff who were on seemed quite stressed. The tables were a little grubby and the floor needed to be swept too.I don’t like to give negative comments but felt it was necessary. The outlook and gardens are still very nice but the place really is not as nice as it was last time I was there.Given there are so many places to go we probably won’t be back and will try somewhere else next time.

Fabulous meal at Rivendell Restaurant. Entrees of Chicken Liver Parfait & Oysters Kilpatrick were both great. The pickled cauliflower with the parfait was sooooo good. Mains were lamb neck & red emperor both were good size serves, fresh & tasty. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. It is great for couples & groups.

Drove out here only to find a sign at their driveway that the restaurant was closed. When enquiring as to why they had a lunch function and didn’t staff to open for breakfast as they would any other day. He pointed out they had a sign at their driveway which, to be fair, would’ve saved me about 200m of the 29km drive from Busselton. Waste of time.
