I used to drive past this unassuming restaurant every morning, not knowing any better what good food they had to offer! Excellent tortellini dish with a round and rich flavour, just like how Italian food should be. The chilli mussels were good, but not spicy enough for my tasting. The staff were a little cold to us which a bit unfortunate, and this place only accepts cash!

High hopes from when I came here last time, but somehow I felt this place has lost it’s spark. Not all of it though as I still give this place hope to recover my faith again. We started off with the ‘Chilli Mussels’ ‘Hot Italian Sausage with Marinated Black Olives’ with ‘Garlic Bread’ on the side which was a good entree to kick things off. No better way having a conversation with friends you haven’t seen in a while while nipping away some spicy sausages and olives. Moreover, the flavours and texture of the sauce were what you expect from a good serve of chilli mussels, and what better to wipe the excess sauce with garlic bread on the side. When it came to our pizzas,, ‘A Gino’s Special’ & ‘The Works’, though I was happy with the flavours but the base bread was stale. A bit disappointing because a good pizza needs a consistent texture and fluffy base to compliment its various concoction of flavours. Then came our pastas the ‘Penne Arrabiata’ & ‘Penne Carbonara’, fair to say very nice texture and base flavours but lacked flavour. Needs to add salt and cheese to keep eating. Finally, the dish I was most curious to try, the ‘Scaloppine Marsala’, a creamy veal served on spaghetti which was meant to be sweet. And sweet tasting it was but one you would tell you friends to try.Given it’s history I am obliged to give Gino’s another try, but won’t be for a while. onetonneexperience.com

Excellent garlic bread and lovely fettuccine! Friendly staff, and the place is packed on a Saturday night with plenty of Italian people, which is generally a good sign.

Favourite pizza in Perth, the American is a must try. Come here on a regular basis. Restaurant is always busy and the food is reasonably priced. Staff are friendly

Love this restaurant. Cash only and must book. There is seating out back in the courtyard. Delicious pastas and pizzas. Try the chicken parcel special- it really is special. Big servings. Well priced meals.

Three of us went for dinner here on a Saturday night. There was a small crowd waiting outside, presumably for takeaway pizza. There were some Italian families with children seated at the tables so a good sign for authenticity. We sat out in the back room at our booked table and waited to have our order taken. After about 20 mins I went to the front and requested that our order be taken. We were actually served our food after about 1 hour. We weren’t in a hurry but 1 hour is a bit too long.Gino’s decor is very basic and the back room is more a closed in verandah. The mushroom, spinach and ricotta calzone came first and it was a monster. Cooked to perfection and bulging with its tasty contents. The owner could only eat one third and he gladly took the rest home in a box.My spaghetti all pescatora came next. It too was a big serve and brimming with a nicely cooked variety of seafood in a tomato sauce. I finished it but then wished I hadn’t. It was good. The third meal was supposed to be grilled fish. It actually had a light batter and was reported to be tasteless and overcooked. The salad was disappointing as were the chips. I guess they don’t do fish and chips well at Gino’s.I marked them down for slow service but mostly for the poor fish dish. It shouldn’t be on the menu if they don’t want to give it the attention it deserves.Stick to pizza and pasta and you should be alright here. We’ve been here plenty of times since. Can highly recommend the calzone (with extras), the vegetarian lasagne and best of all the pizza with the works. Best pizza ever, every time.

Had been meaning to try this place for some time however was closed or full booked arrived her on a Sunday evening for dinner and was disappointed from the get go. Positives the garlic bread was fresh and delicious and the cost was cheap with huge serving sizes. Negatives 1. Waitress forgot our drinks so had to remind her and had to ask twice for water there was only us and another table of 4 in so and she appeared more interested in her conversation that working.2. The minestrone soup was reheated in the microwave and not fresh 3. I watched the chef defrost and microwave my partners bolognese in plastic containers this is never a good look when your paying for food, the waitress also laughed when my partner ordered bolongese and stated you can probably make a better one at home (she was correct) 4. I ordered the chicken con fungi it was what appeared to be microwave extra hot with gluggy cream sauce and no real flavour My partner and I had a couple of mouthfuls and swiftly left . On a positive and from the the reviews lots of pizzas and chilli mussels were being ordered so I assume this place is known for that . My venture back for a pizza but outside of that wouldn’t recommend anything else. Sorry Gino
