The Austrian Hungarian taste empire is back in town! Let me tell you our story Our family comes from Hungary. A Hungarian family living in Austria. What would everybody say? They would say, that we are simply typical foreigners. But here comes our spin on things... The history of Austria and Hungary has a meeting point, a period of time between 1867-1918 when we were one big cooperative nation alongside 11 other members. They called it the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. (sterreichisch-Ungarische Monarchie). So thats what we are working with, but how does one implement it into a restaurant? Thats the easy part. The Empire was not all just about Austria and Hungary. We cant forget the other countries in the empire. Our plan is to bring you some specialities from every part of the Empire, that means that every two weeks, we will give you the possibility to try some delicious regional dishes from the former countries of this Empire. So the idea sounds rather good but why do this in St. Gilgen? Well the emperor Franz Josef 1. and his wife often visited St. Gilgen as they lived in a town just 30km away. Our aim is to offer you the best cuisine that our ancestors loved with our modern flare to it!
