New Koto is a traditional japanese cuisine restaurant where you will find both the best sushi in town as well as traditional japanese warm dishes (teishoku, yakissoba, udon) that you usually won’t find in other japanese restaurants in town.Be aware that this is traditional japanese cuisine, so don’t expect to find any of those fruity or cream cheese sushis that have been on the trend (I was never a fan though). It is definitely a can’t miss.

I’ve been to New Koto twice. The first time, I ordered a large platter with a variety of sushis and sashimis, and it was great. The food, however, took over an hour to come, and several people who arrived at the restaurant after me got their food before I did. The manager admitted that they had screwed up, and gave me some free tempura for my time. The second time, I went for one of the hot dishes, and it did not disappoint. The teppan yaki was delicious, and very authentic as well. If you’re looking for upscale Japanese food in Brasilia, New Koto is the way to go.
