I took my boys here as a treat and to try Canadian style bowling. In mother Somalia, we play bowling with pineapples as pins and coconuts as the ball. This way you can have a feast of fruit after you enjoy the game. One of my friend at work tell me that it’s played way different here. It doesn’t sound as fun to me because there is no fruit meal afterwords but I will try anyway. We get to the place and it turns out it is underground and is built as a bomb shelter. My cellular telephone does not work and it is a cold as a Zimbabwean rape den. I go to front counter and decide to buy one hour of bowling. The cash girl tell me that this is best deal for us because there is four of us. I agree and she slide me a sheet of scrap paper and tell me to write our names. This anger me as this is private information and I will not dispense to her.she tell me no worry it is just for our scores. I am not understanding so I tell my eldest boy to determine what she means. Hurjub is really good at English because he just graduated high achool and finds out that they produce our names and score on some sort of closed circuit television, only to be displayed to the bowlers and it is not released on the internets. This pleases me and my worries are diffused. We put our names down and then she demands my shoes size. I am again confuse as this just is more personal information. This fills me with rage. This time my middle son Ergip tells me what her intended was: we have to wear special shoes when we play. This is a silly tradition but I will try it to get the whole Canadian experience.Bowling was much easier since the ball rolls even unlike a coconut. We had much fun and some nachos. I also had six cups of gin, it tasted like lesser quality stocks but it was still enjoyable. The nachos had ground beef on it which was a strange new thing for us. She spelled my name wrong on the TV which was insulting but it is an unusual name for a Canadian so I allow. There was lots of unruly loud children which was infuriating. My children are well behaved because I hit them with a stick when they are behaving badly. I could tell that these kids were not beaten often enough. Ergip was the best score at bowling so I let him have a cup of gin. This made the parent of the unruly kids angry but drinking at a young age is a proud Somalian tradition. I allow stupid Canadian customs all the time to go on around me so they can allow mine. The head bowling attendant allowed it, which pleased me greatly. I will most likely return as they allowed us to have much fun, and allowed me to dispense gin to my 17 year old son. Thank you Airdrie bowling for the fun afternoon.
Probrably would have been strange to take a photo of someone else’s pizza! Not only did it smell amaizing while bowling, typically not something you hear right. The table next to our lane ordered a pizza and did it look good; nicely canalized cheese, perfect amount of toppings. Next time we’ll have to get one but if was very busy tonight with birthday parties.25 Apr, 2015Great Pizza. Wow I’m a bit surprised that pizza from a Bowling alley can be this good! Ive found a new favorite place you’ve got to try this place out!04 Jan, 2010Forgot about this place. This is one of those places that you tend to forget about, until I went bowling last night and remembered they serve food here. It has your typical small fare Pizza, nachos, fries, chicken fingers, chips, pop and alcohol. The food is average priced and ok tasting and after a few beverages you get a little hungry. The service is friendly and quick and makes for a pretty good family night out.
