Very disappointing buffet. Eggs Benedict were not good at all and they should hire the cook from Alexander’s to make the Hollendais. Regular eggs were okay, sausage was over cooked and tough. Cinnamon bread was dripping with grease, French Toast had no taste to it at all. Even the go-to fresh fruit was mushy and not very tasteful. Overall really makes me miss the buffet at Alexander’s…Decided to try them again…we had soup and sandwiches. The mushroom soup was at first cold and when it came back out the broth had no taste to it at all and it made it inedible. The club sandwich had lettuce that was black and I’m not sure how that made it out of the kitchen. It will be a long time before we go back to eat here
Just went here for the first time since living in Airdrie for the last 4 years…and it will be the last time too. Came for lunch and my wife had an omelette which was tasteless. I had the beef dip which was ok, but definitely not fantastic. It seems like much of the ingredients come from boxes or from frozen and are not made from scratch. There are definitely better breakfast/lunch places to go in Airdrie.
Buffet breakfast ok. … The kids like it but some of the food choices are gross. The buffet scrambled eggs are disgusting. I have no idea how you get eggs to be that foam consistency. The deep fried French toast is just greasy. Pancakes are leathery. French toast is usually flaccid. Hash browns are soft from being in a covered tray. Oddly if you order from the menu and skip the buffet the food is 10x better even for the same items. Still you leave the restaurant satiated and full unlike Coras where you leave still hungry after a plate of cold fruit on saturated cold crepes.
Acceptable. The food is ok. It’s no better than anywhere else. The sunday buffet is super nice though, and always refilled in a timely manner so everything is hot when you eat it. A little bit crowded but that’s ok I guess.The staff, not exactly stellar. The last few times we’ve gone the waitress is there to take our order and that is it. It’s usually the bussers and other guys who end up waiting on our table, refilling drinks asking how we are, and even bringing our food. There is one busser, lady, I don’t even know what she is, but I know she wasn’t a waitress, her name was Caitlynn. Super nice girl, way nicer than our waitress whom we saw once.
Food could be better. We have been once, the service was great and the food was just Ok. The holondaise on my omelet was very bland. We thought we were going to have to go to Tim’s next door for coffee afterwards but Smitty’s coffee was so good we didn’t have to.
Sunday rescue. Thank God for Smitty`s. Our conference in Calgary wrapped up Sunday at noon, and it was time to head North. After three days of hotel catered food, with no hot foods at breakfast or lunch, and a dearth of protein amidst a plethora of carbs, the three of us were craving meat protein.Smitty`s satisfied! Despite the Sunday Brunch we all ordered a la carte. What an attentive server and cooperative owner and cook to hurry our order and put us out of our protein withdrawal.Good food and service at fair prices, without gouging the travelers!
Good Breakfast. Went to Smitty’s for breakfast its been here for sometime and though it was time to go. The food was good, service very friendly but the prices are a bit high I was surprised. However the experience was good and I would go back again.
