On my first visit to this bakery I bought a $12 bag of 6 butter croissants, which I thought was overpriced, nevertheless I gave them the benefit of the doubt being a bit of a connoisseur who is willing to pay for quality pastry. The croissants, however, were a disappointment. Where they should have been delicate and flakey, they were crumbly and burnt tasting. They didn’t have any of the buttery brioche richness or the light puff pastry texture, and were really more like a burnt dinner roll, not at all what I’d expect from a croissant especially at that price. These were, in my opinion, worse than the type of mass-market made-from-frozen pastry you’d get at a grocery store for a fraction of the price. The only good thing I can say about the transaction is that when I returned the bag of croissants I was given a full refund, and the cashier was friendly about it. The croissant is often viewed by pastry chefs as a sort of benchmark for their overall quality, and unfortunately if this is the quality of the croissants I don’t think I’ll be trying anything else this bakery chain based out of Australia has to offer.
The Danishes here are insane!!!! Especially the dulce de leche and the blueberry one. I bought three and ate two in one sitting! This place being so close to work, it can get quite dangerous.
Great fresh bread, buns and sweet treats! I really enjoy their fresh bread for making sandwiches at home. Also, it’s hard to eat buns/bread from other grocery stores once you get used to eating from cobs!
every time I hit cobs the smell makes me want to buy everything but I can’t or I will blow up like a balloon. personal favourite is the ciabatta loaf so good, I would like to go there more often but it would defiantly break the bank.
Cinnemon Bread. I was walking by and the smell was amazing so I went in and bought a loaf of cinnamon bread. I never imagined that bread could taste so good, I thought it was all the same, now I’m hooked and I get some all the time. Really its a must try!! JJ14 Oct, 2014Cinnemon Bread. Yum. I used to work very close to this location and I could never resist popping in for a treat. The pizza rolls are good for a snack as well. I really enjoy their scones, though not really a traditional scone like the UK, they’re still very good. The cinnamon ones have a lot of flavour, but hands down the apple butterscotch ones are the best. I love those! They’re soft, nice amount of chew and a sweet, but not overpowering flavour. I wish I had one right now. dragonfiring.wordpress.com
Delicious. Fresh. Soft. Get there first thing because the shelves get empty very quick!!!
